GH003 brings you Priku.

Adrian Niculae a.k.a. Priku established himself as a hard working and passionate music creator. He is a member of Sunrise booking since 2007, making his way up to the big gigs through many noticeable Sunwaves performances. 

He released on labels such as [a:rpia:r], All Inn, Fabric, Concrete Music and Only 300 Family, his name is also on Cocoon Green & Blue 2011 and Cocoon Heroes compilations. 

Throughout he can be seen playing in many important clubs and parties around the world, including Robert Johnson, Amnesia, Kazantip Festival, Tenax, Concrete, all across Europe and as far as the Americas. 

In 2012, Bobohalma Ep was released on [a:rpia:r] label. This was a resounding success, highly appreciated by his colleagues in the industry as well as the general public. 

2013 is a turning point for Priku. He creates his own label: Motif and releases a new solo – Acoustic Ep under his real name, Adrian Niculae, the name that’s also present on Fabric 72. 

Priku's achievements came when still relatively young proving to be extremely talented, when we look at him we can see this sweet and delicate face, however, when we listen to his music, especially his live performances - by definition presenting the core of his identity musically – we call him the “king of basslines”, there is a somewhat adorable contradiction here, sweet face vs dark and very strong music, in the best way possible. That element of surprise and this contradiction makes him an even more fascinating artist. 

In 2016 started a new label and series of parties called Atipic, party by which we hold a residency at Guesthouse. This set is an extract of his set at Atipic at the club in March 2019.

Ohne Umwege geht es heute direkt zum nächsten Teil der Zukunftsdystopie von Simon Rucker. Gastmusikant ist heute der Produzent und Dj Daniel Rateuke, der auch einige seiner eigenen Schätze in diesem Podcast verarbeitet hat.

Der dunkle Panzerwagen fährt mit quietschenden Reifen auf den Vorplatz des Headquarters in Berlin. Es sieht aus wie in einem verdammten Agentenmovie. Aufgeregt hetzen die Scheibenwischer hin und her. Hin und her. Unermüdlich. Aussichtslos. Aus den beiden begleitenden Fahrzeugen springen jeweils zwei Männer im Anzug. Einer öffnet die Tür des Panzerwagens. Prym steigt aus und eilt an den Wachen entlang zum Eingang des kahlen Betonklotzes. Regen prasselt auf den Asphalt. Auf den Aktenkoffer, den er sich über den Kopf hält. Sturm rüttelt an den Linden entlang der Straße. Seriös schließen sich die Türen hinter den Eintretenden. Einige Minuten darauf sitzt Prym mit den Nationalministern, der Führung von UNIp und zwei Vertreterinnen von Die GoldeneLiga an einem langen Tisch. Er nimmt sein Namensschildchen zwischen die Finger, dreht es herum, sodass er seinen Namen lesen kann. Jacek Prym steht darauf. Und in der Zeile darunter, in kleinerer Schrift: EU-Präsidentschaft. Er fährt mit seinem Fingernagel in die Rille der Schrift. Es fühlt sich rau an. Seine Schultern beben. Er schaut durch die verglaste Front ins Wetter Berlins hinaus. Die Regentropfen schlagen gegen die Fenster, laufen in breiten Rinnsalen die glatte Oberfläche hinunter. Hier drin ist davon nichts zu hören.
Stunden der Verhandlungen später verlassen die Nationalminister die Konferenzhalle. Prym gibt sich keinen Illusionen mehr hin. Ihm ist klar, was jetzt passieren wird. Es ist längst beschlossene Sache...

Despite the international acclaim this great Argentinian producer has received over the last couple of years, he chose to stay in the small village where he was born and raised. His productions, featuring local instruments and motifs, manifest his admirable attachment to his origins and the traditional music of his homeland. His first approach to music, at the age of 14, was accidental because “nobody wanted to play bass guitar in town” so he learned it and started to play with his friends. It is astonishing how this almost random first step awakened his dormant talent for music which turned a boy into a brilliant electronic producer and music professor. The set that Lagartijeando prepared for UCR features many of his latest productions including seven unreleased tracks. Gentle instrumental sounds of flutes and drums, organic samples and a vibrant electronic beat blend beautifully into an enchanting musical journey which we are pleased to offer to our listeners. SUMMA is a French-Swiss duo of DJs/producers from Geneva, Switzerland.

Having become friends following their common passion for electronic music for many years, Steve and Ysatis decided to start their project in early 2017. Coming from hip hop culture with his productions for Ysatis and Jamaican sound systems for Steve's Dj sets, music has always been an important part of their lives. Sharing it is their greatest satisfaction.

Thanks to their influences and past experiences, the duo has become complementary both for their productions and their mixes. Their desire to form this group was then the only logical continuation of their career.

One thing that’s clear when you step into the dub techno community is how friendly and giving everyone is. Björn aka pjontec is definitely one of those people. He was very encouraging and supportive of my Journey through Ambient Dub Techno mix series, particularly part 7, and I was happy to make this mix for him. Part 7 featured the heavier, dubbier sounds of dub techno. Björn asked if I could make a mix for his channel similar to that. The rawer and grittier, the better. I dug into my collection for as many dubby tracks I could find. This mix starts gentle and progressively gets grittier and dubbier to the very end. Enjoy my friends!

Wie es der „Zufall“ manchmal so will, bekommt man recht kurzfristig eine Absage für einen Podcast und überlegt dann … hm wenn könnte man da nun auf die Schnelle reinnehmen. Hach da war doch so eine tolle Set Anfrage vor ein paar Wochen. Die Dame hatte mich doch ganz schön vom Hocker gehauen. Ach ja Katzenohr heißt die Künstlerin aus Berlin … ok fix angeschrieben und direkt mit Begeisterung eine Zusage bekommen.

Katzenohr klingt erstmal super Süß … aber lasst euch nicht täuschen … sie hat den Druck für sich gebucht. Ihr Stil lässt sich schwer beschreiben --- BassHouse, HipHouse oder Downtempo mit Extremdruck … ich finds auf jeden Fall MEGA. 

Neben ihrer neue entflammten DJ-Leidenschaft ist Milena aber auch politisch sehr aktiv und Mitglied vom RSNZRFLXN Kollektiv die sich erst letztes Weekend mit der Seawatch Demo und der Soli-Party im Mensch Meier engagiert haben. (Genau das war die Party mit der völlig überzogenen Polizei-Aktion --- hier voll Solidarität von meiner Seite). Außerdem ist Milena auch noch Mitbegründerin des feministischen Kollektiv „PRIZM“ das sich immer am letzten Donnerstag im Monat auf dem Klunkerkranich trifft und mehr bietet als nur Party.

Also man sieht Katzenohr wird es nicht langweilig und mir bleibt nur zu sagen … mach weiter so Milena … und tausend Dank fürs kurzfristige Einspringen und dieses absolute Knaller-Set und den umwerfenden Depeche Mode Edit von Enjoy the silence.

i ain't your girl --- da gibt es nichts mehr hinzuzufügen …
