Tracklisting and Review:
I listened to so much music in 2022 compared to other years that creating a one-hour review has not been possible. Thanks to this extended playlist, I have been able to select tracks with such different moods, from the waving house baselines to the wide atmospheric progressive pads. Some included tracks were released before 2022; however, it was during this year that I discovered them. @alexorion and @matter  stand out again from this year's Deep Progressive House scene, while many new tracks from Argentina are getting my attention, especially @simonvuarambon and @ezequiel_arias.

'A Year In Review' mix series brings together the tracks I connected most deeply with during that period. They aim to reflect on the electronic trends that have deeply influenced me and thus find inspiration for my future productions.

2022 — A Year In Review

Marçal Prats, originally from Barcelona, is based in London driven by his endless aim to achieve new creative challenges. In addition to his productions and mixes, he is an established graphic designer.

On 14th July 2023, Marçal releases on Sutil Records (@sutilrecords-sutilvox) his latest production, 'Fascinated' paying homage to the iconic 1987 freestyle disco hit by 'Company B', Marçal has infused "Fascinated" with a modern twist, delivering a captivating dance anthem that will transport you to the golden era of dance music. Ten years before, in 2002, Marçal Prats released in Barcelona his first Tech-house remix for London singer and actress Linda John-Pierre's song 'Night People'. 

Marçal started his interest in electronic music in the 80s, fascinated by High-Energy, Italo-Dance, and its hypnotic arpeggiated baselines. He was soon seduced by the birth of House Music and the crunchy 303 analogue sounds of Acid-House. In the mid-90s, during his first visit to London, he was again seduced by Drum&Bass, Big Beat, and IDM.  In 1995, he won his first remix contest. In the first half of the 2000s, Deep Progressive House became his favourite electronic choice. Marçal continues combining his role as a designer with his devotion to music. As he works on new productions, he has released a series of DJ mixes where he brings together the tracks that have influenced him since the turn of the century.
