@marcel-locust, a DJ and producer from Heilbronn Germany, has been shaking up his hometown scene for over a decade. His genre-defying sound often defies categorization, and he surprises even himself with the genre that emerges from his projects. 

The EP “Sète” is a wedding gift for his partner. The EP will be released on May 25th at 12pm CET, features the title track “Sète“, named after the southern French port city where Marcel proposed to his wife last year, and the second track titled “Zoë“, after his partner. Both tracks feature distinctive, dance-inducing percussion and long, atmospheric drops interrupted by hard kicks underscored by groovy basslines!

Marcel Locust – seit über 10 Jahren in der Szene aktiv – ist den „Älteren“ vermutlich noch von seinen legendären Ravefaction-Events in Heilbronn, im Fahrenheit und später im Rooms, ein Begriff. Seine Releases kamen damals wie am Fließband, und es dauerte nicht lange, bis auch das Publikum des Toy, des Zollamts oder des Butan in Wuppertal von seinem Sound begeistert war.

Später schloss er sich Neuron an und brachte Newcomer ins Mobilat, die inzwischen internationale Bekanntheit erlangt haben. Seit letztem Jahr mischt er gemeinsam mit Unchained Visuals und Pumped Up Kicks das Mobi auf und hostet monatlich seine Eventreihe „Marcel Locust & Friends“. Auf neue Releases könnt ihr euch ebenfalls freuen!

Alles, was gute Laune macht und zum Tanzen animiert, landet auf seinem Stick. Und Achtung: Sein Sound steckt an – bei ihm bleibt garantiert keiner lange still stehen!

Mit der „Bukowski“-EP zollt der Heilbronner DJ und Produzent Marcel Locust einem Ort Tribut, der seine musikalische Laufbahn entscheidend geprägt hat: dem legendären Techno-Club Bukowski in Heilbronn. Unzählige Nächte voller Energie, Inspiration und Gemeinschaft fließen in den gleichnamigen Originaltrack ein – ein kraftvoller Peak Time Techno-Banger, der die rohe Intensität des Dancefloors spürbar macht.

Ergänzt wird die EP durch zwei Remixe von Künstlern aus Heilbronn, die jeweils ihre eigene Handschrift einbringen: Driver transformiert „Bukowski“ in einen treibenden Hardtrance-Ritt, während Marco Plazetti das Stück in eine groovige und verspielte Richtung lenkt – zwischen Tech House und Minimal.

So entsteht eine musikalische Hommage an einen Club, eine Stadt und eine Szene, die weit über Heilbronn hinausstrahlt: roh, vielseitig und voller Leidenschaft.
