Brooklyn based Mike Isai joins the onedotsixtwo family with two red-hot progressive gems, Alya and Chrysalis.  Fellow New Yorker and ODST alumni, Mir Omar, takes on Alya, while Aussie legends GMJ & Matter give us their unique take on Chrysalis making this a complete onedotsixtwo family release. 

Although a relatively new name on the progressive scene, Mike Isai has certainly hit the ground running, with highly praised releases on the legendary Hope Recordings, and a recent EP on current label du jour Meanwhile Recordings. Growing up in New York Mike was exposed to electronic music from a very early age via his siblings who introduced him to Sasha, Digweed, Danny Tenaglia and the like and soon after, at the age of sixteen, decided he wanted to create his own sounds and hasn’t looked back since. 

First up is ‘Alya’ with an infectiously deep groove, shimmering keys and understated yet powerful acid undertones. ‘Chrysalis’ follows with a growling energy and tribal rhythms complimented by atmospheric hypnotic chants and sweeping effects. Mir Omar takes on Alya to great effect, adding intricate layers of percussion and brining a peak time feel to the piece. GMJ & Matter tackle Chrysalis bringing their signature euphoric big room sound and rounding off a stunning EP in style.

For its second release of 2018, microcastle welcomes the mysterious Cornucopia project back to the label for a new EP. The publicity shy artist first appeared in May of 2016 when 'The Day You Got Older And Stronger' was released courtesy of Gorje Hewek & Izhevski's Shanti Moscow Radio. Shortly thereafter came his microcastle debut with 'Pursuit of the Orange Butterfly'. A lo-fi, organic and deeply musical creation that the underground fell in love with. 

2017 was met with just one release, 'Letter For Poly' which launched Lee Burridge's new Tale & Tone imprint. Sitting at #1 in Beatport's overall Top 100 the track was also aired on BBC Radio 1 by Kolsch and by year's end was considered one of 2017's best deep house tracks. Now returning to the comfortable home of microcastle, Cornucopia presents his much anticipated 'Forever Gone' artist showcase.

Spread across three tracks, ‘Forever Gone’ is a transcendent blend of music and nature, an organic methodology which Cornucopia seems so apt at crafting. Beginning with the evolving textures, exotic drums and tonal creativities of the title cut, the EP then shifts energy to the modular intensity and oriental themes of ‘Big Sky’, before ultimately melting down to the tranquil, meditative yet spiritually uplifting expedition that is ‘Epathia’. 

For those who believe that music can affect people on a deeper, universal, emotional level, this is music to treasure. This is music to hold close to your heart.

A regular contributor to the Proton Music catalogue, Michael A continues to find himself at the forefront of underground dance music, now returning with the 4-track "Fantasy" EP.

As prolific as he is talented, Michael A has been a central figure in the progressive house scene with occasional forays into melodic techno and electronica. Since a 2012 debut for Stereofaza, the Belarusian has seen almost 900 production credits against his name for a formidable array of high-profile imprints that include Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat, Darin Epsilon's Perspectives Digital and Cid Inc.'s Replug. Moreover, Michael's own Genesis Music imprint has been a vital source of music for both himself and a leading band of new and established artists. Support for a growing portfolio of releases has come from industry's leading DJs and tastemakers that include Guy J, Nick Warren, Max Graham and Cattaneo himself.

Making an early appearance on the seasonal Particles compilation series in Winter 2014, his "Behind the Moon" EP followed in March that year. Making his way on to Proton Music in 2017, the twin-track, "Bright Hope" began a very special relationship with the label that has seen a further five original offerings pepper the Proton catalogues. Indeed, "Symbol", "My Style", "Aura Tears" and "Geometria" has continued to showcase Michael A's music between 2017 and 2019, before the twin original tracks of "Twinkling Stars" shone brightly in April 2020 alongside remixes from Matter and Desaturate.

Now returning with another collection of original music, "Fantasy, Vol. 1" marks a new chapter that follows in the footsteps laid by the likes of Erdi Irmak, Rick Pier O'Neil and Hot TuneiK as a way to develop a musical narrative across a series of releases showcasing Michael's original work and remixes from other high-calibre artists. "Vol. 1" opens with a quartet of new tracks with "Slipflow" immediately displaying Michael A's penchant for driving rhythms and immaculate bass groove before richly stratified melodic layers ripple across the 8-minute piece. Shimmering arpeggios and dramatic chord constructions blend seamlessly, before the darker vibe of "Silent Moments" provides a sinister edge. Heavy with bouncing bassline groove, smooth melodies coruscate in ever-expanding patterns to a rousing mid-point crescendo of sound before dropping back into familiar groove and gradually developing melodic phrasing.

The subtle energy of "Flyaway" ripples enticingly forward atop cleverly programmed hi-hat and shaker cadence. Hitting its stride with consummate ease a glorious melodic evolution sees the track provide a moment of understated magic and delayed keys shimmer in overlapping delays over a growling and sustained bass note. The title track itself is another richly textured affair that bristles with chugging percussive groove and heavy metronomic beat. Waxing and waning throughout, subtle melodies meander delicately across the upper-mid range, redolent in reverb and delay before a subtle rise in energy in the third movement creates a platform for all elements to combine to mesmerising effect in the second half.

Greek-born Simos Tagias has made significant progress since breaking into the scene back in 2012 and developing, since then, a fluid and rolling style that has been supported by an army of high profile fans and peers alike. 

Opening his Sudbeat debut is the title track ‘Crater’ where deep beats and strings allude to the tension that’s just over the hill. Low slung grooves keep your feet locked on the dance floor and melodics creep into earshot leading to an epic break and driving conclusion. 
Next up, ‘Bracer’ opens with a jangling percussive vibe and spiky bass notes. Gathering pace throughout, the main musical motifs reveal themselves in the powerful main break. 
Finally, ‘Neutron’ thunders from the gate with huge, rotund kick drums and sparkly arps. Driving forward to the first break, a sonic maelstrom begins to form. One for the peak-time floors for sure.

he latest release from Tash's Movement Recordings welcomes Dizharmonia back to the label with a new EP. Hailing from Athens, the Greek duo first appeared on the label in February of 2018 with their well received 'Trigonon' EP. 2019 then saw Dizharmonia return to Movement, delivering a stunning remix of Wielki's 'Excelsior'. Firmly established in the world of melodic house and techno, the duo lays claim to an impressive resume, highlighted by releases on Beatfreak Recordings, Steyoyoke, Stil Vor Talent and Timeless Moment. Now making a welcome return to Movement, the duo presents their 'Alkahest' EP alongside remixes from Alex Preda and Binaryh.

Continuing to diversify their portfolio, Dizharmonia join forces with Eleonora on the title and showcase piece 'Alkahest'. Once again operating at a creative peak, the Greek duo crafts an astral storyboard of punchy beats, striking electronics and fiery percussion. It's this dramatic concoction which perfectly sets the stage for Eleonora's heavenly vocals. Ghostly and emotive in equal measure, they descend over the pulsating framework, while sections of cosmic effects advance the storyboard. Shifting further into poignant territory the grandiose break delivers just the right combination of tension and emotion, before a wall of glassy arps provide an energy bridge into a purring finale. Also included is a 'Deeper' version by the duo which will most certainly broaden the track's reach among cutting edge DJs.

Bernabe Turletti, better known as @berni_turletti, is an Argentinian DJ and
producer hailing from Villa Maria, Cordoba. He is best known for his releases
on Balkan Connection, Hope Recordings, 3rd Avenue, and The Soundgarden,
typically featuring smooth melodic sounds and progressive basslines.
Berni could often be found listening to bands such as Coldplay, Gensis, Be
Gustavo Ceratti, New Order, Pink Floyd, Radiohead and Spinetta in his younger
years – all of which he still considers influences to this day. In the early 2000s
he started drum and percussion lessons, which eventually gave rise to what
would become a passion for electronic dance music.
Berni first started to mix electronic music in 2009 and quickly became heavily Be
influenced by DJs such as Hernán Cattaneo, John Digweed, Nick Warren and
Sasha. These artists, coupled with the Argentine underground scene, focused
his taste for electronic music to progressive house and led him to start
producing his own melodies.

While his first club appearance was in 2013, he has since travelled around W
Argentina sharing his music. Notable locations include: Bahrein in Buenos
Aires; Lola Cruz, Casa de Piedra, Dorian Gray, Dahaus, Fruta in Córdoba; La
Boite, Beat San Juan, Bog Mendoza in Tucuman; Junin and Rosario. In doing
so, he has supported many artists, such as Alejo Gonzalez, Analog Jungs,
Antrim, Artfaq, Dmitry Molosh, Ezequiel Arias, Fernando Ferreyra, Frangellico,
Henry Saiz, Juan Deminicis, Kevin Di Serna, Luis Bondio, Mariano Mellino,
Santiago Teillagorry, Simon Vuarambon and many more. San
Berni continues to release his own music and is gaining much deserved
attention from world-renowed DJs. Artists such as Cid Inc, Hernán Cattaneo,
Nick Warren, Marcelo Vasami, and Mariano Mellino are continuing to support
Berni’s music, dropping them at festival and clubs around the globe. under
various record labels, including 3rd Avenue, Agara Music, Balkan Connection,
Hope Recordings, Movement Recordings, Massive Harmony Records, One of a
Kind, Or Two Strangers and Soundteller Records.
Berni is always striving to improve his music and is currently studying a Bachelor Be
of Musical Composition and learning to play the piano. His most recent release
is arguably his best, a two track EP with Dimuth K on Hope Recordings. This
release truly highlights the typical elements that can be found throughout
Berni’s music.
