Bienvenue Berlin-based French DJ @flaavio 🇫🇷 His musical influences range far & wide, easy to feel when listening to his 'søunds fløating arøund' show residency on Netil Radio.

He organises an inclusive party in Berlin called You Mean So Much, where he's had the chance to play alongside & B2B with selectors such as @AlexFromTokyo, @Austin-Ato, @KristyHarper, Daniel Wang, @DJAmir70 and more. 

The inspiration behind his guest mix was seeing @Hunee and @AntalRushHour going b2b at the end of August at ELSE. In his words, "their way of mixing various genres effortlessly is always quite something to behold, and that made me want to relax a bit more with a choice of music not necessarily "heavy/peak", but with a more soulful touch."

He's delivered a lush dance-oriented mix, all beautiful organic grooves, warming funky rollers & seriously deep cuts 💣

Here's my set from the Extinction Rebellion fundraiser at Hebden Bridge Trades club. It was a brilliant night playing to an up-for-it party crew  that spans the generations, as only the Calder Valley can do.

Two of our favorite artists, Skymark and Damian Botigué aka Karmasound came together to our HQ and they record this beautiful mix with lots of jazz funk, modern soul and gospel music gems..

The Paper Family has members worldwide, including Mexico City, so we thought we'd ask them to collaborate. They said yes, so the chaps have remixed each other's tracks and the results are as good as you would expect from two veterans of the scene.

First up, La Guardia De La Luz puts his foot four to the floor for a throbbing, trance take on nu-disco, complete with rave chords for the modern age on the amazingly titled 'I First Learned about Shelley's through a Magazine'.

Picotropico's 'Stoke On-Trent is not in Mexico City Remix' doubles down on the best title of the year, stripping the groove back as far as it will go. It slowly builds to a bubbling acid arp and those hands-in-the-air chords. Shelly's comes to Mexico!

Pico's original, Strangers, drops the BPMS for an acid-driven chugger. Hypnotic and deep, it's a wonky slice of psychedelic house that doesn't fit into any category but simultaneously fits into them all.  

The remix tag team continues as La Guardia De la Luz gives things more of a disco swing but keeps it low and slow, funky and freaky.

We love it when a plan comes together.

Traxx - An Insane Experiment Abstract (LiH 003)

Lumberjacks in Hell has been founded in 2010. Intimate Friends followed in 2013. For some people the difference or the need for distinction between these two is quite evident but to give you an idea. Lumberjacks is always 100% for the dance floor, inspired by the music from Chicago and Detroit which is not only reflected in the Artists we release. Intimate Friends is a headier affair. Soul, Hip Hop and House are all fair game. If you check the releases next to each other both labels have a distinct sound. And maybe a certain BPM range. This isn't saying that some of the music couldn't have appeared on either label but somehow it all makes sense to me.
