Lu/Lu & LYMA is a project by Lucas van Ee and Tjerk Lammers. Collaborateurs extraordinaire. I've seen them work and move as one in their common studio. Brothers speaking in code and working in unison. A hive mind full of muscial ideas and creativity bound to erupt like a Vulcano. I've worked with both seperatly and I am just blown away, how in tune with the music these guys are. They are not just producers but they are music. Even after the success of Diary N°1, Upon.You’s first CD label compilation, it was clear that this Berlin crew wasn’t through with their adventures and had every intention to keep documenting them (and doodling in the margins, too). With nearly 70 releases in their catalog and with recurring label nights held in their hometown’s top clubs Berghain/Panorama Bar and Watergate, Upon.You felt it was time to make another full-length statement in the form of Diary N°2, compiling 12 new, exclusive tracks, showing the label’s wide sonic spectrum within the realm of techno and house music.

Lumberjacks in Hell has been founded in 2010. Intimate Friends followed in 2013. For some people the difference or the need for distinction between these two is quite evident but to give you an idea. Lumberjacks is always 100% for the dance floor, inspired by the music from Chicago and Detroit which is not only reflected in the Artists we release. Intimate Friends is a headier affair. Soul, Hip Hop and House are all fair game. If you check the releases next to each other both labels have a distinct sound. And maybe a certain BPM range. This isn't saying that some of the music couldn't have appeared on either label but somehow it all makes sense to me.
