Its the red!
I'm always learning but more rapidly I'm leaning
Suffering self inflicted internal bleeding
I only hope the red mist starts quickly disappearing
Can't bare the self-loathing and inner fearing

Who would guess we'd mess up in this way?
The angels falling

The fools are calling
Pampered up and showered in champagne
Our morals scattered
Never realised we were quite this vain
We're bashed and battered

When towers fall and whole cities barely survive
This is just a momentary glimpse into my mind
Eradicating whole generations in acts barbaric and unkind
My inner searching is working hard on the goodness yet to find
There's one red mist after another and each one more unclear
There's protestors waving banners declaring the end of the world is near
I'm sitting having a giggling fit as I down a pint of beer
It doesn't matter what you say I'm determined I won't hear

There's a red mist hanging for too long
The world can see it
What the hell did we ever do so wrong?
I didn't agree to it
Where's the key to open up new doors?
Its old and rusted
Yesterday I woke from demon jaws
I'm glad I trusted

Take me to the pharmacy
These fascists sing in harmony
There all the same from what I can see
Is this really a diplomacy?
They march whilst chanting populist lines
That appeal to people of all kinds
The lies and hate are underlined
Beware the mines they left behind
They're working fast they upped a gear
They work on each and every fear
The voices shouting in my ear
Exploding forth from out their rear
An evil stench that leaves a stain
An ever growing cancerous pain
They're driving in the fastest lane
I fear for those of us that remain

I can barely see anything but blood and tears and guts
Its pissing down with rain on the people in mud huts
They are desperate in their search for boats to the land of ifs and buts
Its a crazy mind in a crazy world that seems to have gone nuts

What a mess for those of us that stand
But we're still smiling
A simple cross is enough to give a hand
Its age defining
Wave the flag and disperse the angry mist
My hope returning
Thank the lucky stars the lies all missed
Reputations burning

JARV’s lifelong love affair with music has deep roots, sprouting in the ‘70s influenced by six older siblings always spinning tunes.  Festivals have been a crucial part of his fabric since his first taste at Sweetwaters ‘83.  JARV’s sets reflect his broad musical palette, recreating his journey from  the reggae-infused snow and surf of Whanganui via the psychedelic experience of cave living in India and the melting pot that was the exploding dance culture of early ‘90s London. Now based in Tāmaki Makaurau, JARV's experimentation across music’s multiple genres continues to evolve. He knows how to party and how to bring the party.

VANCRYNES is the musical alter-ego of Angelo Saridis, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer from South Gippsland, Australia. His music spans the genre spectrum with roots in early punk and post punk and a solid grounding in 90s alternative rock, his music fuses these influences with a deliberate intention.  Imagine Paul Dempsey and Tim Rogers had a love child with Black Francis and Kim Gordon as the godparents and Johny Marr as the favourite uncle...somewhere in that mix you will find VANCRYNES

Exploring themes that are predominantly a shared introspective reflection, there is a happy sad dynamic and a nostalgic sensibility to all the songs.  'I'm trying to share what's anxiety provoking for adults...and show that none of us really have our shit together...but at times there's something beautiful about admitting our failings and insecurities'.

VANCRYNES is guitar driven, sweat soaked and authentic which at times will make the listener chuckle and other times give you a reason to reflect.  It's still very much punk rock at heart but delivered with an equal portion of sensitivity and recklessness.

VANCRYNES is committed to capturing the immediacy of the songwriting process and moves quickly to capture songs as the moments of creation are fleeting 'I just want to get a general sense of the song recorded and move on to the next one.  If the songwriting is strong enough, then I hope it will carry through the more casual production approach.  My production is very loose and I will never even contemplate something like autotune'.  

Keeping it fresh and committed to the creative practice of songwriting, VANCRYNES sticks to a blistering regime of writing, producing and releasing with more than 100 songs completed in 2022 and that frenetic pace continues into 2023 and now 2024.  'To quote the famous philosopher Lloyd Christmas...I can't stop once I've started....it stings'

Prolific musician, author, photographer and oddity.  With influences ranging from the lofi pop of Guided by Voices, the gothic melodrama of Nick Cave, the glam of Bowie and the nakedness of Iggy Pop - this is Marc Freak.  Former frontman of Freak Circus and Dead Joe.  An experiment in DIY and lofi.  The odd bum note here, the even odder bum note there.  But with art do we care?

My compositions and lyrics are expressions of my personality and life experiences. I love punk and electro rock, techno, trance, experimental, groovy and stuff that has no genre.  I have no boundaries in either subject matter or style. Music has consumed my soul and is my driving force in life.
