I worked my way through the various tracks I've written and recorded and selected 1 track from each of my shorter EPs and 2 from each album, starting with the earliest recording.  They are probably my favourites from each, but often don't match with the most played songs!  But this would be a starting point for a live setlist for me I think

The first of the Marc Freak EPs, Wraith combines the lofi pop of Guided by Voices, with a splattering of Bowie, and a dash of Nick Cave to arrive at a package of college style alt rock.  With the theatrics of Iggy Pop thrown in for good measure.

Wasted Life was written at a time when all of my friends seemed to have these terrible boyfriends who just didn't appreciate them and caused problem after problem for them. My lyrics combine the many different flaws of these boys. However the chorus gives perspective as at the time we were 17 years old and rarely does someone that age not simply reflect their upbringing.
This song was one of my favourite to record. I loved looping over the end parts and really enjoyed the challenge of slightly different vocals to usual.

Its like Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin have been embraced by a bondage clad Depeche Mode.  Hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed recording it.
