When Joey wrote out his Christmas list

He made a wish and to his surprise
Santa Claus appeared before his eyes

A leather jacket and some drain pipe jeans
Were on the list as well as other things
Santa had a sherry and Joey a mince pie
They rocked some Christmas carols well into the night

These tricks of his are sure to raise a few eyebrows
His twisting, writhing posture disturbs the pc mouths
Well their constipated arguments are best left in their bowels

I accept in these times they have a right to what they say
But they shout of the ignominy and freedom goes both ways
Do I detect a hint of jealousy because for a suck they have to pay?

I've heard the rumours of how one night whilst he sleeps
An execution party will turn up, oh so discrete
And they'll burn his resting body 
Because that's the way to handle freaks

As a self confessed quick thinker I knew their plan had flaws
So I told him "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours"
He said "I can scratch my own back with my feet"
Well of course!!

If he'd taken up my offer he'd still be alive this day
They'd have been no midnight murder, no charcoal remains
Hell his body really contorted as it went up in flames

Why is it we destroy all of what we fear?
And if we don't destroy its body we crush its soul with our jeers
So think twice before you take up an alternative career

The Contortionist

Prolific musician, author, photographer and oddity.  With influences ranging from the lofi pop of Guided by Voices, the gothic melodrama of Nick Cave, the glam of Bowie and the nakedness of Iggy Pop - this is Marc Freak.  Former frontman of Freak Circus and Dead Joe.  An experiment in DIY and lofi.  The odd bum note here, the even odder bum note there.  But with art do we care?
