At some point, the music came. Inadvertently. A noise, followed by another, followed by another. Resulting in a melody, or a rhythm. Gathering everyone around, suddenly drawn by this weird lullaby, asking the neo-instrumentalists to repeat the enthralling loop, endlessly.
Then, the discovery spontaneously spread across frontiers, across ages. Up to this day, laden down with all the knowledges and influences collected along the road.
Stéréogramme, the newest Parisian label, dedicates its initial imprint to this journey. To the strange and captivating music filled with ancient sounds and atmospheres, yet produced today. As a manifesto of the coming explorations to be released: library, leftfield electronics, freak folk, minimal synth, fourth-world…

A 50-minute cassette compilation to highlight ten worldwide producers, providing two distinct listening experiences. A joyous first part, featuring playful and extravagant contributions from Hipólito, Lyckle De Jong, Charlotte Leclerc, Manoir Molle and Romain de Ferron. Making way for a darker second act, tinged with psychedelic and mental abstractions from Steve Pepe, Chorus Abstracta, Raymonde, Inturist and Bear Bones, Lay Low.

Designed by the infamous Structure Bâtons - as another bond with minimalist and naïve art -, a hundred tapes for just as many cover combinations, thanks to various artworks and stickers.

A multidisciplinary artist, and avant-garde icon in her own right, Little Annie leaves little room for an introduction that is worthy of her prolific career. She has remained relevant for over four decades through her innate spirit of experimentation and the multiplicity of her genre-bending collaborations with artists traversing the globe such as Adrian Sherwood, Swans, Wolfgang Press, Kid Congo, Current 93—the list goes on!

For this release, Noir Age is proud to present a 7” single of new material from Little Annie in collaboration with South Florida-based producer and label owner Richard Vergez, recording here under the moniker of Night Foundation. Annie and Richard met back in 2016 after a gig at the ICA in Miami through their mutual friend—Drew McDowall of Coil.

Sharing a requited spirit for visual art and music, they became fast friends and began collaborating, conjuring what you hear on this release: Inertia.

This record, titled "Rosal," boldly proclaims the liberation of women, underscores the enduring battles for justice, and wages a resolute fight against a status quo that no longer serves anyone.

Today, we present the premiere of the track "Dimmi" from the album "Rosal" by Fiesta En El Vacio. "Dimmi" is not merely an impassioned outcry from the depths of the heart; it is, above all, an inspiring call to hope—a grand and benevolent initiative.

Ukrainian label Muscut celebrates its anniversary - Muscut X (10) Test Pressign II - is the tenth record in a row. The first release was published in 2012 on 7 inches and was called simply Test Pressing. Like six years ago, the current vinyl is a compilation of Muscut's “residents”, as well as  new friends of the label. Test Pressing II is 12 inches on which there are exactly ten tracks.
Both sides are significantly different in color of mood. Party A starts with dub-drone sketches of key figures of the Odessa underground - Wildstyle Crew and Bryozone. Then we hear the mantra-like  M2 - the work of the creative union of Nicola Ratti, Mads Emil Nielsen together with Nikolaenko. The Canadian sound-artist Mark Templeton continues the line of rhythmic textures crowned with unhurried percussion - it is in all senses of Soft Education at number four. The first part is completed by an exquisite curtsy from the Andrew Pekler label frequenter called Underwater Nocturne as a soundtrack for the perfect tea ceremony.
The second side confidently sets a completely different compilation rhythm from the very start - the tribal tribal dance from the Berlin project Native Instrument instantly introduces into a trance. It is followed by a warm, enveloping minimal synth track from the Ukrainian trio Nisantashi Primary School. The middle of the second side is decorated with the pensive house-ballad of St. Petersburg producer Fadeev known as AEM Rhythm Cascade. Another Russian settled next to him - Muscovite Oleg Buyanov, aka OL, with a massive broken dub Nutmeg. The final composition consists of burning afrosint motifs from luminary Odessan Vakula.

The work derives from a study of the group theory and sonification model of physical objects interacting with each other according to various forces such as attraction, repulsion and gravity. In the context of music composition, the group theory was developed by Iannis Xenakis as a method organizing musical objects into so-called “sound complexes” (Xenakis prominently used the method in Nomos Alpha (1965) for solo cello). “Sound complexes” are highly structured musical objects which - alike Gestalten in perception theory - can be easily recognized from a perceptual point of view.

Fundamental for the emergence of ‘Groups: Articulations of the Real’ was a computer simulation of physical force fields. A force field is a mathematical expression describing the dependence of the energy of a system on the coordinates of its particles. It consists of an analytical form of the interatomic potential energy and a set of parameters entering into this form. The parameters are obtained by fitting to experimental data.

The iterative form of the composition moves from a global perspective of objects gradually attracting each other, oscillating, merging and colliding with its elastic boundaries, towards a close-up view of a rupture. In a way, the work attempts to articulate the real physical processes through computer-generated sound.

marcin pietruszewski (born 1984) a composer and researcher.
 
 
He is engaged in sound synthesis and composition with computers, exploring specific formal developments in the tradition of electroacoustic music and contemporary sound art, as well as extra-musical domains of auditory design, computational linguistics and psychoacoustics. He works across performance, multimedia installation and radio productions probing the dynamics between formalism of synthetic sound and its material realisation.                             
 
 
He has collaborated extensively with musicians and composers - e.g., Marcus Schmickler (performed and recorded Schmickler's Demos for choir, chamber quintet and electronics), Tristan Clutterbuck (fancyyyyy), Jules Rawlinson and Lauren Sarah Hayes. Recent projects include a collaboration with Florian Hecker and a graphic design company NORM from Zurich, a philosopher Chris Schambaugh (The New School, New York), choreographer and dancer Agnes Cebere (Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance, New York), the Laboria Cubonics Collective (the authors of Xenofeminist Manifesto).
