Melt feat. Kilo Kish

The second EP comes from Southern Europe, more precisely from Vincenzo Monastra, a young artist from Messina, Italy. His love for the electronic romanian underground sound can be heard in his work, being influenced by it. At the age of 21 his name in the electronic music scene is starting to be more and more pronounced by a lot of well-established djs from around the world and his music being highly appreciated. Release date very soon. Stay sharp!

Pluie/Noir Podcast is a bi-monthly audio-visual episode representing our work as an artist collective. Each episode will feature a one hour collage/mix by one of our producers/djs and a poster triptych by one of our designers.
We interviewed both artists and dropped some questions about their vision:

:DITCH:

P/N- How are you Shinichiro?
Ditch- I'm doing fine. Thank you.

P/N- When are we getting a new Ditch release?
Ditch- I have a few planned, but no release date yet.

P/N-  What can you tell us about your podcast? How did you record it?
Ditch- When I knew this project, I felt this could be intriguing for me.
I listen to more experimental stuff these days. I always loved rhythmic elements in every kinds of music, so I hope people can capture that feeling and enjoy this podcast.

P/N-  We've seen some great artists coming from Japan lately. How's the
Japanese underground scene lately?
Ditch- I dont' think there is much difference between our underground
scene and the rest of the world. For sure they have their own characteristics defined by their ethnicity, nevertheless there're two sides to every city - I mean,
both critical and interesting moments can happen at the same time.
As far as the Japanese Character is concerned, I feel many of Japanese
people have tendencies to dig things deeper. But I don't think there's
many real adventurers around.
I like to play for small parties, but such parties are getting fewer these days.
Anyway, I suppose we just have to wait and see how it goes. But I don't know what will happen next.

P/N- Future plans?
Ditch- I've been very busy in this summer, so I just want to take a rest here! :)


:ROGER MAC:

P/N- Mr Roger! How are you?
Roger- Doing pretty great actually. Thanks for asking. Though I definitely feel like there's not enough time in a day to do everything I want to do.

P/N-  What have you been working on lately? Still super busy?
Roger- God yeah. Not being busy is the same as wasting your life on nothing… I've been exploring a completely new approach to myself which I feel is so simple on the outside but so so complex on the inside. It's a sort of artistic neuroscience, connected to a whole new dimension of the organic imbedded in the digital. It's hard to explain without a good glass of wine and a very long conversation, but basically It's been a journey of knowledge of myself and of the universe. We now know that we're all connected at a minute subatomic level, but being able to transport that feeling of oneness into art is a very complex emotional, visual and technical process which cannot be done only with one discipline.
I've also been exploring a mixture of new signature techniques and concepts which include photography again (woohoooo..), sacred geometry and drawing, so you'll probably be seeing some new material coming out soon.

P/N-  What can you tell us about your triptych? Is it hand-drawn like Episode 005?
Roger- Most of it is hand drawn and layered on digital simplicity. Shinichiro's podcast took me to some very strange places (hahaha). The idea was to create a singularity within voids, where there's a light side full of detail, and a dark side whith lots of empty space. That empty space is infinite (hence the use of the lemniscate), but is connected to life by very thin strands. In fact, when you take away the complex connections of the drawings you'll actually be left with only those very thin strands. If you travel on one of those strands listening to Shinichiro's masterpiece, you'll see and feel the various phases of the artwork, and you will recognize the differences between simplicity and complexity.

P/N- Any personal projects coming?
Roger- Yes, always… New stuff, new techniques, and I want to show it all off! As soon as I actually have something to show. I'm working on an exhibit with about 10 pieces of art and sculpture, based on my journey of self-discovery.

P/N- What's next on your to-do list?
Roger- I'm actually on my way out to see If I can find some flowers. I have this image in my head which I have to make, but it has some petals in it, and I really have to find the perfect flower to extract the petals and materialize my vision. Crazy.. but it makes me happy. I guess that's next on my list.
