A virtuozo of late-night dance-inducing techno frenzies in steamy clubs, Oliver Deutschmann is back with his second release on ‚made of Concrete‘, aptly entitled 'School Of Hard Floors'.

Named after dancefloors in Berlin’s stalwart clubs, this release kicks off with 'Globus', a mesmerizing slice of whirlwind zippy techno with dark vocals and a contagious bassline. 'Oben' channels spacious, acid-tinged pads with hints of murky chants into a construction that's great for creating and sustaining a surreal stretch of enigmatic tension. The last original track of the offering, 'Gate' tunnels through an obscure sound artery, accented with scintillating synth bleeps gradually radiating into a burgeoning, light-leak reminiscing breakdown.

Hosts Rebar choose 'Oben', arguably the darkest track on the release for the remix treatment, adding swelling, arpeggiated glitched out pads that give the track a larger-than-life, bigger-than-the-room feel that captivates instantly.

Prolific American artist Jon Hester returns to Rekids for the first instalment of his new album, ‘Converge’, this September.

Jon Hester grew up in the Midwest US, living in Chicago and Minneapolis while taking musical cues from Detroit. Initially he was a dancer, and later transitioned to the decks with a refined understanding of what it takes to move a club. He progressed to hosting his own events, holding residencies, and working at a record shop, and now brings his physical rhythms and adventurous drums to his productions, with output on respected labels such as Transmat, Deeply Rooted, Dystopian, Klockworks, and LET Recordings, not to mention multiple appearances on Rekids.

Continuing to show fine form on his debut album, Hester now serves up eight of his signature house and techno fusions with plenty of his trademark directness across four sides of vinyl. The superb 'Sending Signals' opens the album with scene-setting synth modulations full of sci-fi atmosphere. It's the calm before the storm as 'Metropolitan' then immediately sets off on a cantering groove that is eventually run through with busy, jazzy piano keys that bring the soul.

'Haze' has excellently taught kick drums with hypnotic synth tones adding colour, and features Hester on saxophone. When 'Rain' comes, things grow darker and more menacing, with shakers and urgent stabs keeping you moving at a slick pace.

The second half of this compelling record features the loopy punches and pulses of the super smooth 'Dreamstate', beautifully cosmic and widescreen techno of 'Free' and pensive but urgent deep electro of standout cut 'Flex.' Last of all, 'Equinox' is lit up with distant chords which bring a far-sighted gaze to the rolling, robust kicks.

For the 11th installment of our ongoing Breaking New Soil series, we have an all-star compilation for you! First up is Patrick Siech, a core member of the BNS family from the beginning: „Basscamp“ has it all - it´s one of those late-night jams that locks the dancers into its irresistible groove after seconds and won´t ever let them go - we think it´s a timeless piece of classic, yet modern Techno. Next up is Petar Dundov, who really needs no introduction: „Feed“ is unmistakeably a classic Dundov production, yet it is more dark and hypnotizing than you would expect from the melody wizard. Oliver Deutschmann, who just remixed one of our recent releases, handed in "Physics", a relentless piece of raw Techno showcasing his signature production style! Next up, we have our friend Marco Effe returning to Break New Soil with a massive Warehouse Techno anthem! Then, P-Ben from France, one of our favorite artists of the moment, who continuously delivers one killer track after the other: We are more than happy to have his debut for BNS: „Wookit“! Last but not least, Jacopo Susini returns to BNS after his debut 12inch last year, and once again the italian artist comes up with a raw Techno production that will take Techno floors by storm - this one is available exclusively digital. Oliver Deutschmann - Physics

The second solo EP from Téo Dréan on Affûté is a four-tracker of atmospheric and emotional techno. It is in his own home that the Frenchman felt most comfortable showing he's got more strings to his bow.

'Protagoniste' blends a pounding kick with daunting vocals, while 'Consul' is a hyper-detailed and groove-focussed cut. The label head takes us then on a dark, yet soothing trip with 'Crapule' and 'Fourbe', by pairing drony soundscapes with hypnotizing piano melodies.
