DANCE SEQUENCE 2d Movement

A spicy and technical concert march for all instrument groups within the orchestra. The ’Trio’ has a beautiful lyrical melody which, after a fanfare-like interlude in the brass, leads to a scintillating final result.

Moods was composed in spring 2013 as a commission from the Luxembourg Ministry of Culture for the orchestra Solistes Européens Luxembourg. the work is dedicated, in deep gratitude, to my father-in-law Robert Weiler, a great lover of classical music, who died in January of that year . . . .

MOODS, for orchestra (2013)

Of Deprivation & Confidence was composed in 2022 and commissioned by the Bergkapelle Saar and its conductor Bernhard Stopp.
The whole piece is based on the first four notes of the famous German miner's song " Glück auf " (Good luck). This short motif undergoes a lot of mutations of all kinds throughout the composition: thematically, rhythmically, tempowise, instrumentation-wise . . . 
On the one hand, the music describes the hard work and hardships the miners had to endure and, on the other hand, their hope for a better life.
