it’s finally time to introduce our collaboration with LCD Soundsystem’s Nancy Whang! We were contacted by Gomma Records waaaay back, around June 2012 as they’d licensed some of the Casablanca back catalogue and were putting together some EPs of new versions with Nancy doing vocals. They had allsorts available such as Funkytown – Lips Incorporated and Donna Summer – I Feel Love, but straight away we were set on Dennis Parker’s classic disco record Like an Eagle. The only catch was they didn’t have any parts at all, so everything needed to be recreated from scratch!

This was the most complicated project we’ve ever worked on as the original track has so many detailed and intrinsic elements we needed to understand, plus the obvious difficulties of working around Nancy’s heavy touring schedule with LCD Soundsystem, our tour schedule and other commitments, label delays, video shoot problems and loads more stuff we won’t bore you with! But… 20 months later we finally got there! This is Nancy Whang & Audiojack – Like an Eagle, coming out on Gomma on 28th March. Hope you enjoy. :-)

Jimmy & Fred are back on Exploited offering the indie-sounding, oldschool disco infused sound. This rather mysterious duo might not immediately ring a bell but we’re pretty sure James Curd and Fred Everything do. Their debut "I See Lights" (including a remix by Karmon) as Jimmy & Fred became a Top 10 Beatport Deephouse Hit.

James Curd started DJing at the age of 15. As he was underaged and legally not allowed to be in clubs he had to snuck in to play. His passion and persistence payed of though. He has played -and still does- alongside very respected acts and DJs. Furthermore he released on labels such as DFA, Permanent Vacation and Eskimo to name a few. He also released on Derric Carter’s Classic Records as „Greenkeepers” creating his own Greenkeepers-Swing, a mix of swing music and Chicago house. Around the same period he started his „Greenkeepers Music” record label.

Fred Everything who started playing live in the early 90s at raves and clubs in Canada is a well known entertainer in the house scene as his sets were a true mix-and-match of everything from house to techno and more ambient music. He has been in the business for over 20 years, worked on more than 200 music productions and he has no intention to stop. Luckily. Nowadays he lives in sunny San Francisco and he’s working with labels such as Drumpoet Community, Local Talk and Lazy Days.

It’s indisputable that these two passioned and talented musicians combined can only bring supernatural sounds.

To make it even more exceptional Locked Groove and Mirror People are on remix duties.

Locked Groove, known from Scuba’s Hotflush imprint and on the brink of releasing on Permanent Vacation, gave the track a somewhat hypnotizing makeover without losing his talent to produce powerful yet subtile music.

Mirror People got on a more disco-funky road for this one. Being influenced by the almighty Giorgio Moroder it clearly suits the original.

Yes, these four producers together equal a solid ep. Hope you like it too.

Over the course of the last three plus decades, the German born DJ, musician and composer Marc Romboy has become synonymous with a soulful electronic music sound that has taken him all over the world. As well as releasing on only the most influential labels, from Innervisions to Cocoon and Kompakt to Senso Sounds, he is also the sole mastermind behind the influential Systematic Recordings label and has been since 2004.

Nowadays an album specialist, 2006 saw him release his debut album, the captivating „Gemini" whilst in 2017 Marc released his first listening long player called „Voyage de la planète“, a pure electronica album with classical music influence and later, in summer 2017 the live recording of his collaboration with the Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra called „Reconstructing Debussy“, in cooperation with Boiler Room hit the stores.

Despite being a key player for so long, Marc is still as relevant as ever and remains right at the sharp end of electronic music. Proof of that comes in the form of his DJ schedule, which takes him from Fabric to Womb and Berghain to Rex, as well as to not one but three separate Boiler Room shows. All three proved Marc to be a dexterous performer who never relies on obviousness or gimmicks, instead telling truly musical stories that place dancers right at the heart of the action.
