"Stack & Piece are duo from, of all places, Hamilton, New Zealand - whom are the latest artists that we're proud to say have joined the MRR family.

What we love the most about S&P is they are the epitome of the old adage 'hard work pays off'. And their first single 'Burning Out' is quite the payoff indeed!

We had been getting sent demos from the boys for several years now, they have dabbled in all sorts of genres, and their tunes were always tight and ever improving. But it was when they really honed their style to the slow but energetic, percussive but melodic, signature sound that they've started to champion that we really started to go "wow".

Their inaugural single 'Burning Out' with its beautiful drum builds, lush synths & infectious vocals is the perfect example of this. It's polished and masterful and is the sort of sound that could work equally in the clubs or on your ipod speakers. In short, they've bloody nailed it.

Remixes have come in super on point from Command Q (fresh off the back of their Mad Decent release) who transforms the track into an absolute weapon and Wildfire, who has laid down a dope 4 to the floor club cut for the house heads"

Though its DNA touches on classic soul, rock, disco, and acid house, London-based producer and DJ Marcus Marr makes music for today. Marr’s work - released through DFA Records, Detail and New Finger Records - has been championed by Annie Mac, BBC Radio One, Pitchfork, SPIN, Clash Magazine and The Fader.

A regular at Berlin’s famed nightclub Berghain/Panorama Bar since 2014, Marcus Marr recently released the Familiar Five EP and performed a string of co-headline dates in North America with The Juan Maclean.
