After the internationally lauded release of their seventh studio long player UUUU back in May, and an intensive album tour that’s seen them entertain audiences at some of the most prestigious parties and festivals across Europe and North America, Danish live outfit WhoMadeWho now look to breathe renewed life into one of the standout tracks from the album, as they enlist the one and only Jennifer Cardini to put her own inimitable spin on Everyday.

Due for worldwide release on Friday, October 14 via Berlin-based imprint Embassy One, Cardini’s remix sees the iconic French producer, Correspondant Music and Dischi Autunno label boss deliver an absorbing interpretation of WhoMadeWho and Rampa’s introspective original, as she lends her dynamic groove and eclectic sound palette to Tomas Høffding’s sultry topline. Ebbing and flowing with remarkable finesse across its chugging, seven-minute run time, the remix is brought into an avant- garde, almost cosmic dimension as the now Berlin-based artist conjures an extraordinary sonic performance that sits somewhere in-between contemplative melancholy and magnetic euphoria.

After more than two decades spent building an enviable reputation for herself, starting in the clubs of Paris, Jennifer Cardini has become an international icon. Her infectious charisma and versatility behind the decks have led to invitations to play at such famed nightspots as Panorama Bar, Nitsa and Fabric, and with her creative platforms and labels Correspondant and Dischi Autunno, her standing as a tastemaker is as prominent as ever.

It’s 2020, the dusty Pets plain spreads out before you. Nothing but sand, cactus plants and a bottle of good old red eye are all you have for company. Then you hear the shots. They’re fired with such flare they can only be from one man… Renato Cohen AKA the ‘Lone Ranger’
He fires in such a way you can’t help but move your feet. Then you move your hips. Then your head. Then your heart. You’re in funky town now and Renato’s the mayor. He leads with the disco bubbles and slinky restrained funk of ‘Lone Ranger’ before moving on to the heavier weaponry; the cowbell riddled, hoover-rattled stomper ‘Deocleciana’ and the bassline-plunging, deep funk hustling swagger of ‘Bismuth’.
And it seems our lonesome techno patrolman isn’t working alone… ‘Bismuth’ is also backed by an incredible remix from Jennifer Cardini. Ramping up the energy with a precision arpeggio bassline and injecting an entirely different sense of uplift with a lavish synth melody, it shoots from the hip in the most euphoric of ways.

Um die Jahrtausendwende war die Technoszene in Berlin eine große Gemeinschaft. Das Wir-Gefühl bestimmte die Musik, den Umgang miteinander - die gesamte Szene. In dieser Zeit begann ich Techno zu verstehen und zu leben.
Doch ich wollte mehr als die Szene nur aus Sicht des Feiernden erleben. Ich wollte DJ werden und meine Art dieses Wir-Gefühls nach Außen bringen. Das hat sich bis heute nicht verändert, obwohl sich die Szene stark verändert hat. Insofern kann ich sagen, dass diese Gemeinschaft mein Leben geändert hat und meine Sets immernoch beeinflusst.
Musik war und ist, nicht nur für mich, ein großer Stützpfeiler im Leben. Und da das Leben recht kurz ist, sollte es nicht mit schlechter oder immer wieder der gleichen Musik gefüllt werden. Musik ist eben mehr als nur ein Lückenfüller oder ein Hintergrundrauschen. Und das will ich auch in meinen Sets zum Ausdruck bringen.
