Kollektiv Schwarzer Bär are two electronic music lovers who have lived for years at the Schwarzer Bär in beautiful Linden and have been influenced by the electro scene in Hannover.

We grew up with electronic sounds and have been familiar with them for 30 years. Now, with this project, we want to bring people closer to this wonderful music and its different styles. Short mix sets will be presented here on a regular basis to give even the not so expert an overview for any mood . We are very happy about comments and feedback to get this small project more and more to flourish .

in spring 2024, i restarted collecting music on bandcamp and pouring some of it into mixes with a pioneer ddj-flx4. not sure if i'd call it djing - it's more like making mixtapes for myself and share them with the world. it sure is a form of self-therapy, though.

i did some vinyl-djing with minimal techno/elektro/idm in the late '90s and early 2000s at events in germany and a bit of europe, then slowly moved on to other things in life. finally, i donated most of my old record collection to the local dj community, marking a fresh start for me. sometimes it's good to let go and make space for new things, i guess.

as a kid growing up in the countryside, i spent a lot of time close to nature, collecting stones, sticks or weeds. it feels like i do a similar thing with music today, at least it gives me the same joy. does that make sense?

I'm a fan of experimental ambient, sound-art and global music/sounds, and then some. 

Between 2012 - 2016, I broadcast In the Quiet from the studios of PBS 106.7FM. My main intention was to explore ambient music from around the world in all of its forms - music that gilds, and sometimes engulfs our silences. I still fill in on PBSFM occasionally, predominantly on Hannah McKittrick's Soak - https://www.pbsfm.org.au/program/soak

Every here and there I'll post some mixes - I hope you enjoy them. ( Essentially, I'm using works created by musicians as colours on a palette - for an aural painting. That's how I see and would like my mixes to be received. )
