Balearic is a feeling – and Jose Padilla embodies that feeling.
The hugely influential DJ soundtracked the 1990s with his sunset sets at the Café Del Mar, playing a selection of widescreen electronica, dubbed out ambient and the likes of Penguin Café Orchestra to signal the end of one sun-drenched day and the start of another hedonistic Ibiza night. He changed things forever.
Since then, he sold six million copies of the game-changing Café del Mar Vol 1–6, released two albums, remixed countless tracks and been introduced to youngsters conceived while their parents listened to one of his world-famous tapes.

The explosion of Dance Electronica in the late 90s brought him to the world of music to where he is now, the Resident DJ of Buddha Bar in Manila. He started as a CD store consultant for Music One & Tower Records in Manila. "Its not a job but an obsession to music"  is how explained. From a store CD consultant, he was chosen to be a DJ for The Chillout Project by Anton Ramos who is also the owner of the store and had a radio show on 99.5RT FM in Manila and from there , Couchlab was next in the project  together with Juno Oebanda & Gerard Henson. Together, they continue the journey and travel around bars and key summer destinations in the Philippines playing for sunset and lounge sets. From his passion to music , he was chosen as the Resident DJ for Buddha Bar Manila. Welcome Home.
