Icarus Origin 

is the opening chapter of my upcoming Drum & Bass album project INFINITONE.

Driven by soaring atmospheres, evolving basslines, and high-energy DnB rhythms, Icarus Origin explores ambition, creation, and the dangerous beauty of pushing beyond limits. It’s the sound of ignition, of wings being built, of a journey that hasn’t yet failed.

As the first track and intro to INFINITONE, this song sets the tone for an album focused on infinity, transformation, and the thin line between ascent and collapse.

With this year marking the 15th anniversary of Critical’s landmark imprint, we’re already more than excited to see them returning to Room Two this May. The crew land to launch their 15 years of Underground Sonics, with Kasra bringing a wealth of talent new and old from Critical’s history to showcase their leading sound. 

In the spirit of anticipation for their full album launch, camp Critical fired us over today the latest collaboration from Foreign Concept and Halogenix before they both play in RM2 on 12/05. “Writing music is a journey of ups and downs. A sample or an idea on the way home with your bike sparks that initial creative process. I try to emphasize the contrast of soul and dark atmosphere in my music. It is all about connecting different elements to make it sound diverse. Sometimes you find that dynamic from the start, but more often I get stuck overdeveloping a track. 4ms or 3.93ms on the reverb? Sounds recognizable for every producer out there I can imagine.

I wrote “Scaventure” a long time ago. I left the project unfinished, to only recently return with new ideas and completely revamp it. “Foxley” was straightforward and came together in a heartbeat. With “Crumble”, I tried to address the more dancefloor side of drum and bass. It’s more instrumental driven and shows a different production style of mine.

Music is a very personal thing for every one of us. For me music is an endless search exposing different aspects. I love making music because it connects different cultures. There is nothing better than feeling the same kind of music.” – Northern Zone
