Following a string of successful label releases in a short period of time, DLR is ready to unleash his debut solo album on Dispatch Recordings, entitled ‘Seeing Sounds’.

Having previously collaborated with Octane on the ‘Method In The Madness’ album, DLR has quickly established his own signature sound; an instantly recognizable groove mischievously poking through the mix, terrorizing dancefloors in a truly unique way.

As an album concept, ‘Seeing Sounds’ is DLR’s exploration into sound design and how the manipulation of organic elements and subtle soundscapes can create imagery within the music; to set the scene and immerse the listener up to a cinematic level.

Commencing this quest from abstract beginnings, DLR investigates over a selection of different formats and styles, ranging from the tantalizing neck snapper “Charlie Brown” to the sinister breakbeat nonchalance of “I Found Out”.

Inviting external influences to the fold; specially selected guests join the project to explore further, including Total Science, creating the cataclysmic “Control The Sound”, Hydro, the ambient chords and emotive vocal sample in ‘Empyreal” and partner in crime Break, resulting in the mighty, yet constrained “Human Error”.

Since Resident Advisor’s initial announcement, the album has garnered support from all corners, including Noisia, Friction (numerous Radio 1 plays), Goldie, Calyx & Teebee and The Upbeats, with Mixmag selecting it as their February ‘Album of the Month’. The early support from Friction on his BBC Radio 1 show also led to a special invite where DLR dropped an album mix in for live broadcast on the 13th of January.

With an innate understanding of the technology available and a shrewd willingness to exploit it, ‘Seeing Sounds’ is the culmination of DLR’s very best work to date.

Aprés - Chicago (Technimatic Remix)

Following up his outstanding 2014 debut EP, Dreamscapes, Dead Man's Chest returns to the Ingredients fold with 4 more cuts of hardcore/jungle in the form of Nautilus.

The revivalist project of established drum & bass producer Eveson, Dead Man's Chest focuses in around the 157bpm mark, bringing together the classic sound of skittering breaks, guttural bass and stabs that transport each and every listener back to golden age of the early '90s (whether they experienced it for real or not). "Dead man's chest is simply me delving into and re-imagining the music that got me hooked 20-odd years ago,” the Bristol producer tells Data Transmission.

Opener 'Liquid '94' sets a rough and ready standard for the EP, one that is often missing from productions with a more modern focus. The track feels raw and ancient, but holds a great significance, as if it were responsible for carrying on the memories of long lost ravers.

Taking its name from a classical mathematic formula (illustrated on the album’s artwork), Zero T explores the science and maths behind beauty; the factors and stimuli that govern our perception of balance, harmony and beauty in nature, art, architecture and composition.

Exploring intrinsic reactions to music and how discerning elements can balance against one another, Zero T ventures into the senses across the album; from the mesmerising nostalgia of ‘Macushla’ and dubbed out roller ‘Everything Must Change’, to dancefloor poised punishers ‘Good For Nothing’ and ‘Wolf Tone’.

Comprised of 13 original tracks, plus two additional bonus tracks, the digital album predominantly features solo jaunts, such as the blissful title track ‘Golden Section‘ and opened by the elegantly arranged ‘Late Nite Movies’, however a few special guests also join the picture, for some more technically focused collaborations.

Linking up with Fierce on the unrelenting, yet, mischievously sampled ‘Cross It’, Zero T also joins fellow Dubliner Beta 2, with two industrial workouts, including harsh stomper, yet groove driven ‘Cairo’.

Utilizing the technical apparatus to investigate a long adopted term, Zero T carefully maps out the indices to deliver a classic, all-encompassing long player that evokes the senses in numerous ways.

Created around the time the Grey Area sound was coming into it's full fruition, these tracks show perfectly what has led to the cracking of the rhythmic code to link the 170 bpm tempo perfectly with a true techno aesthetic.
