2018年11月、柏ちゃぶ音で練習していた「愛知屋弦光」がお店の人に、「おかだりょう」さんと２マンライブとお？と誘われたことから「遅すぎる新人たち」イベント発足。そのセッションのメンバーがそのままバンドメンバーに。バンド名はTooLateRookies→トゥーレイトルーキーズ→ツレイトルーキーズ（将来的に競走馬の名前にできるように９文字）
