Pietro and David have been fellow admirers of each other's work for years. This transatlantic collaboration started when Pietro sent David a track (Cold Lullaby) for consideration for a group album project. However, David decided to try a rework of the track, and Suspended Animation was born.

The project evolved over the next few months, with Pietro sending David tracks and David doing reworks with no added instrumentation or sounds. The original tracks Pietro provided were stretched and otherwise morphed into longer, drone-based compositions. The resulting album is an effective marriage of each artist’s style: soothing and calm, yet with a slightly anxious undertone throughout.

The album title reflects times when we seem to go into hibernation, waiting for the warmth of the sun to return and bring hope back into our lives.

Live session made at RESEDE workshop after filming the video where they let me build the wooden tape loop support and the tape loop itself.
I have first recorded the four tracks on the tape using an Electron model: samples, then tuned the tape velocity and dubbed it live.

"Earth Burning Red is an album by Glasgow based ambient musician Bobby Jewell for Lantano Series.

The seven tracks were made on individual days over the past two years in response to news, events, data and announcements around the climate crisis.

With track titles reflecting these moments in the newscycle you can see words of condemnation from the UN's António Guterres, the Climate Change Committee decrying a lost decade of climate action in 2023, the now completely impossible dream of keeping the planet to just 1.5 degrees of overheating or British Judge Christopher Hehir sentencing Just Stop Oil activists in 2024, dismissing their legitimate concerns for the end of the world as 'neither here nor there'.

From seeing this catastrophe play out on screens combined with the mind-boggling inertia, misinformation and greenwashing, Earth Burning Red documents these immediate emotions into the deep-well of ambient music.

The album is part of Bobby Jewell's ongoing work as a climate activist, communicating this crisis through writing, sound, protest and his ongoing radio show Earth Tones as heard on Radio Alhara."

"Mardi avant-midi" was created during a snowstorm that seemed to pause time in Montreal, inviting reflection on the whiteness of the city and the muffled sounds of everyday life. The album takes this stillness as its form: two longform pieces that don’t seem to evolve with time, loops lingering between movement and stillness.


This is the tenth solo album from Lamasz, and the second on ROHS!, alongside a collaborative release with Andrea Porcu, aka come le onde. His work has also appeared on various labels, including Seil Records (a collaboration with THME), Vaagner, and his own Florina Cassettes, which he has been running with his brother Grandbruit since 2019.
