Alna

As NASA’s Europa Clipper spacecraft leaves Earth, it carries a message: we, too, are made of water. Europa—one of Jupiter’s moons—is a top candidate to support life, thanks to its ocean of liquid, salty water capped by a layer of ice. Lynnae Quick-Henderson, a planetary scientist at NASA, explains how Clipper will search Europa for the building blocks of life. The mission is also a message in a bottle, bringing a greeting from one ocean world to another. Hear how Ada Limón, the Poet Laureate of the United States, used NASA’s mission as inspiration for her poem “In Praise of Mystery: A Poem for Europa” and why she thinks everyone—even space nerds—should step back and appreciate our connections to the universe and each other.

Curious Universe: Europa Clipper's Voyage to Jupiter's Ocean Moon

This is my musical version of the old poem "Drinking" by Abraham Cowley (1618-1667)I worked with vocal, bass and some hydrophone recordings done during the project "Listening to the fjord / Renewable Futures" that took place in the inner Oslo Fjord, November 2016. This is all about the big wheel where everything drinks of everything - so please have a sip!

This is an atempt to create a short listen-in to the four channel sound installation "Det som beveges flytter seg" 2019. The sound quality in the space is certanly different coming from the carglass via transducers. The sound material is based on field recordings from Oslo-fjord and the glacier Kronebreen at Svalbard in addition to fragments of vocal and found sound.
