John Legend is an artist mature beyond his years. He is a crooner in the best possible sense of the word — self-assured, gentle and debonair. For Legend’s sophomore album Kanye West resumes his role as executive producer, but Once Again is a mellower affair than Get Lifted. The songs get their gentility from Legend’s low, cocoa-smooth vocals, which never fail to bring a potentially hyper song to a place of calm. Though Once Again features an impressive assembly of producers — including Craig Street, will.i.am and West (all contributed multiple songs) — Legend is wholly in control of the album’s tone and tempo. The hip-hop underpinnings are balanced by the elegant jazz of “Again” and “Maxine.” “Where Did My Baby Go” is so simple that it feels timeless — it could be a piece of an old album by Arthur Alexander or even Joan Baez, made new again by Legend’s warm breath. “Save Room” is a song that glides so sweetly and effortlessly that it challenges every shred of malice that might be lurking within the listener. Even sweeter is “Slow Dance,” a melody as compact and pretty as a jeweled pocketwatch.

San Proper is the real deal. Somewhat of a street legend even.. Ask anyone crossed paths with him and you will hear the wildest stories. This might be his debut album, but make no mistake, Proper is a hardcore DJ veteran, starting his career DJ'ing small-time gigs in the shadiest bars, six nights a week. True love for music and his unbreakable optimism kept him in the groove. His enthusiasm caught on and slowly but surely he garnered a devoted following. In 2007 he released his first releases for Rush Hour, but his big break came in 2009 when he dropped his now classic single 'Keep It Raw' for Perlon and shot to #1 in Germany's Groove Magazine Top 50. More singles followed and his profile of a must see DJ and pure bred entertainer rose, touring and creating cult followings everywhere from the Japan to South America.
 
Dr. Proper has never been in a hurry, but in the fall of 2011 the time felt right for San to start working on his debut album. Months of rampaging studio sessions followed, writing tracks all over the globe during his frantic touring schedule or in his Amsterdam studio and Paris apartment. The journey finished in Berlin, where he ended up in the studio of Proper believer Ricardo Villalobos who eventually mixed the album, ensuring audiophile bliss.

The result is the trippiest of trips. Taking you on a journey inside the twisted brain of a man who has seen it all, and then some, boasting raw emotion and subconscious desires. 'Animal' has its roots in house music, but you will have a hard time categorizing this beast, sounding like a cluster bomb of electronic funk, jazz and psychedelia. 

Like any good trip there will be some highs and some lows, but man, what a ride...

Don Diablo ft. Dragonette - Animale

Steve Bug returns with a brilliant set of killer reworks from his much-lauded 'Noir' album. 

'No Adjustments' features the vocal talents of Foremost Poets, and remains one of the standout moments on the label boss’s enigmatic long player. Where 'Noir' explored the themes of light and shade, it was always clear that 'No Adjustments' was one of the more straight up dance floor moments on there, and as such this release is definitely going to be thankfully received by DJs.

Steve Bug himself provides one growling, up-for-it rework  – a chunky floor wrecking tool that epitomises the sentiment of the vocal – drop it in and stand well back. 
Long time Poker Flat collaborator Alex Niggemann is also drawn towards the edgy, menacing vibe, constructing a sick groove that builds via a dirty, swirling synth bass and clattering hi hats. 

Arttu, the Portuguese producer making waves with his recent releases via Royal Oak / Clone, also puts his stamp on 'No Adjustments'.  Raw kicks, claps and hats fire this version along, the vocals cut up, treated and tweaked for maximum effect. The neurotic synths bubble away below the surface before breaking out spectacularly towards the track’s conclusion. A sure-fire ‘wtf?’ moment for ecstatic clubbers worldwide.  

Alessio Mereu also drops something a little special for digital customers. The Sardinian’s epic near-10 min exploration is a spacey, tripped out journey from start to finish.
