From Greystar ... "Aphex Twin's seminal work, Selected Ambient Works 85-92, came out 32 years ago today.

This is a passion project commemorating this great work. Over 40 artists have come together to put forth their unique versions, remixes, covers, reworks, and recreations of these tracks!

This project has a bit of history. It has been in the works since before 2016.

Before this Bandcamp page existed, I was involved in a few "Aphex Twin Tribute compilations" organized on the /r/aphextwin subreddit. Eventually, folks decided to tackle covering the entirety of Selected Ambient Works 85-92. This culminated in "Selected Ambient Covers 2016", a soundcloud-exclusive release that fell short of its lofty goal: not all tracks were covered, and some of the tracks were unfinished. Since then, I've led projects covering Selected Ambient Works Vol. II, ...I Care Because You Do, and Drukqs, among others, all seemingly more ambitious than the last! Having met so many new talented artists from all of these projects, it felt like the right time to return to SAW85-92 and do it justice.

Anyways, I'm a bit tired, I might write more here later ... there's a few tracks missing from CD #2, marked as "[COMING SOON]". They'll be ready in time for the physical CD, but needed a lil extra time to be finished before this digital release. They'll be added here in post, so keep an eye out! Follow this page if you want to be notified of when they're added. I heard a snippet of WHRK's Hedphelym Remix and it's very very good, you won't wanna miss it.

It was my first Draaimolen and no one knew it which was great. 
It was also my first encounter with Addit Audio and their sound system installed for the first time in its full glory. I can't recall being brought to tears during one soundcheck.
So there were no news, no algorithms, no expectations to be disappointed. The pit was not announced. It felt like a curious manifestation of something paranormal.
Wonderful sound system, records and sweetest weather.  
Those who found us in the small pit in the middle of the forest most likely didn't know what was going on. 
For the most part of the first 5 hours I figured out that it would be great to play for and with the sound guy, playing right and wrong records and figuring out which one sound good. Research and development mission for Addit Audio.
After 5 hours ISAbella joined for a brief back to back session. Everything can happen in the realm of paranormal. Luckily she stayed and we played together for the next 3 hours until the last song, the one for the deceased. Probably as close as it gets to transcendence.

A new name undeniably entered the pantheon of major electronic live acts over the past decade: next to Faithless, The Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers, now sit @feelmybicep.

The Belfast duo's music doesn't half reach for the stars: a melodic blend of ambient, breakbeat, trance and tech house, able to turn the biggest arenas into intimate affairs.

If anything, mainstream success, BRIT Award nominations and mammoth dance crossovers like "Glue" have only hardened Andy Ferguson and Matt McBriar's resolve to keep innovating.

Their prized blog, running for nearly as long as the RA Podcast, regularly platforms upcoming artists. And you won't find many festival headliners releasing climate change-themed records with Indigenous artists, as they did recently on Takkuuk.

RA.1000 exists in that spirit. After many polite declines, and before a year off to usher in the next era, Bicep come through at the last: from dub techno and screwface breaks to São Paulo garage, before a tide of signature synths floods the zone. Stadium-sized intimacy at its finest.

(ENG) Born in Córdoba and embraced by Málaga (south of Spain), Marian is a DJ and vinyl lover whose passion for electronic music shines through in every set she delivers. From her childhood, when she collected cassette tapes and explored a wide variety of genres, Marian has been deeply immersed in the world of music. Her first serious encounter with electronic and underground music came during the renowned Andalusian Breakbeat scene of the 2000s, a period that sparked an insatiable curiosity in her and led her to travel across Europe, attending festivals and clubs, all of which helped shape her artistic identity.

Moreover, she has solidified her presence in the electronic scene by participating in prestigious events such as Electrolunch in Seville and Sun and Snow Festival in Granada, and has left her mark in iconic venues such as Studio Club in Málaga, Sala Malandar and Sala X in Seville, and Moonback Club in Granada, among others.

With a chameleonic musical style, Marian offers eclectic sets that resonate with audiences across generations, thanks to her festive energy and unmistakable groove. Her repertoire spans from Funk, Soul, Disco, House, and Deep in its warmest and most hedonistic form, to rave and nighttime sounds like UK House, Breaks, Acid, Electro, Hardcore, Techno, and IDM, evoking her southern adolescence.
