I heal myself weekly with the music I play. I listen deeply to the words buried within; the intention behind the lyrics either peppered-in or chorused. So much of the house music I connect with is rooted in love. It’s rooted in desire and hope. It’s rooted in narrative, “Do you want to trip with me?”, “I’ll outstretch my hand”, “I won’t forget about you, you won’t forget about me, we won’t forget about love vibrations!”. I listen to the messages to remind myself what I need and why I continue to move forward.

Vol.2 is represented in two mixing styles; long-melded blends (Trippin’ On Love) and fast, tight radio-style cut mixes with overdubs (Slammin’ With Love). Both convey the deep need for connection to one’s body and to others. It’s this connection energy that I find so powerful about house music’s healing magic.

Hmm, I would say be inspired by and connect with other people, nature, life , parties or whatever gets you going, exploring different avenues, but always be true to your own individual sound. The more you make, the more you dance, and the more you mix your sound will find you. Do what makes you happy, practice, dig for your life, and if you work hard enough your time will come bbz. Take time to have fun with your friends ! Coz at the end of the day, that’s all that is really guaranteed in this fickle industry, without selling your soul of course ! And ask yourself, is this for love or money? Money ofc can bring happiness and stability, but shared experiences are worth more. Learn to really love yourself and put your mental health first.

I absolutely recommend getting moulded hearing protection coz the club is sometimes just too damn loud. Let’s make the most of life and what we have, and if you’re blessed with hearing I suggest you cherish it and look after it. You can get cute funky colours and they will become a cute raving accessory. Its also way easier to hear your friends in the club and you won’t need to shout. It means you can enjoy the subs and be closer to the speakers safely. I have a dear friend who is suffering currently and it affects a lot more than just your precious ears lemme tell you.  This doesn’t just apply to DJs, anyone working in a club, or raving. PLEASE !  Theres something in London, the Musicians’ Hearing Health Scheme, which some people are lucky enough to benefit from, give it a go, its mega discounted, but even if it isn’t.. Treat yourself. Public sex has a long history as part of queer culture. What is that history? And how has it been shaped by public sex bans and crackdowns alongside bans on trans and gender-queer expression? Queer public sex today has also come under attack from within our communities. How can we make public sex more generous and capacious without devolving into shame and policing? How can different kinds of queers coexist—and hopefully interact in surprising and fun ways—given the different ways they approach and understand sex?
A lively conversation about what kinds of shared sex spaces we want and how to make it happen between Ben Miller (co-host and co-author of “Bad Gays”), João Florêncio (co-author of a forthcoming book on cruising) and three members of DTF, a new activist collective hosting more playful and de-normativizing play spaces at WHOLE for dykes, trannies and fags to fuck each other or like one another.
