A few words to the complete mix version: The two tracks, which I had chosen as intro and outro to my otherwise more toe-tapping drum & bass mix, not only provide the framework for the mix, but also give it its name and, I hope, make it feel like a story told with music.
Robin Rimbaud aka Scanner had worked in a project with homeless youths in London and published a photo and music project with them called "Night Jam". In their lyrics, which I found very touching, the young MCs tell of their experiences and feelings on the streets at night.

The rest of the mix - hopefully - speaks for itself. Sometimes I took the liberty of layering tracks - exclusively - on top of each other: the two minimalist tracks by Mark System - The Earth and Body Model - Test Pilot offered themselves, as to my ears the newcomer duo Body Pilot have let themselves be inspired by System. Or ASC - Starkwood + DJ Zinc - Hear No Evil. As a third and fourth layer - at some points simultaneously - Paradox - Toprock and Deba & Paradox - Swirl.

Marie Wilhelmine Anders - Sleepless Night Mix (Complete Mix)

This is Draw The Line Radio Show with Jacki-E, presenting the best music from female producers and DJs.

It’s drum and bass this week and helping me Draw The Line with her guest mix in the 2nd hour it’s Marie Wilhelmine Anders who’s based in Berlin. In 2005 she began producing her own music using. Between 2018 & 2021 she released 4 albums incorporating the words of the Scottish poet, Robert Louis Stevenson, influenced by techno, electronica and ambient music. She has recently developed a love for drum and bass and her new album was mastered by DnB producer Sunchase and will be released by Broque. The mix you’re about to hear is also drum and bass and Marie has entitled it ‘Sleepless Night’.

Bio:
EMESH led by Antonio Muñoz is a master of creative music production across electronic, ambient, slow trance, dub and IDM genres. He comes from the beautiful region of La Alcarria in Spain. Since 2013 on Sendero Records, he has been delivering a quite diverse range of sound to the listener, sometimes danceable, sometimes calming, more metallic, more organic, and always inspiring. Antonio is both, a musician and therapist. His musical influences owe much to the pop and electronics of the 80s when he started working as resident Dj at Deadly club in Brihuega (Guadalajara-Spain) about 9 years. From there he went to Madrid to do Dj sets with his aka Dujay in various popular nightspots of the capital like the Circulo de Bellas Artes, Mondo and Maxime between others, in addition in the early 2000s he is the founder of the underground parties Darkbeat, programming deep trance and progressive house, pioneers in the city. Working with these sounds allowed him to warm up James Holden the first time he visited Spain in 2003. Evolving his skills, he delved into music production, mastering various instruments and exploring sound therapy rooted in shamanic practices. Antonio gives regular sound therapy sessions and concerts using his Tibetan Singing Bowls, Shamanic Drum and other ancient instruments. His talent has been recognized on a global stage, with his track featured at the London Music Conference in 2020 playing a set at fabric@london. This global recognition is a testament to his skill and creativity. Currently, he's immersed in his studio, Elul, recently completing an indie electronic EP with Miss Zagato, and recent releases on Piranha Siberia Dub, Blue Lotus and Something Spæcial label. Die Berlinerin, sie lebt also quasi am Puls der deutschen Elektro Szene, ist Komponistin und Produzentin und ein "menschliches Wesen" - wie sie selbst sagt. 
In ihren elektronischen Werken übersetzt sie u.a. Gedichte von Robert Louis Stevenson in eine zeitgenössische, erwachsene, elektronische Sprache, dramatisch wie auch cineastisch !!

Illogic is proud to present the new radio show cast by the new artist @marie-w-anders 

Trained in a variety of musical and instrumental styles since her early childhood, she received her first technical training as a sound engineer. Her affinity for microphones, cables and last but not least the cutting of music stems from this time. In 1989, at the age of nineteen, she was a member of the East Berlin underground scene as a keyboarder.
She studied music at the universities in Berlin and Stuttgart, where she was an active member of the improvised and experimental music scene until 2005.
During this time, in addition to her solo activities, she founded two ensembles - Unterton and Hammerhaus - which brought together groove and free-flowing improvised forms from different perspectives.
She initiated and directed "momentmusik" - a "concert series for experimental and improvised music, visual arts, performance and language" at the "Theater Rampe Stuttgart", which established the connection between her ensembles and the national and international scene.
In 2005 she ended her concert activity, went back to Berlin and started producing her music with Cubase. Since 2009 she publishes her music under the pseudonym Marie Wilhelmine Anders.

Electronic music allows her to combine groove with the beauty of the freely unfolding form and thereby realizing her very own expression. The album "Andersworld" (2020) released by the label Broque is the second in a series of albums based on the poems of Scottish poet Robert Louis Stevenson. Marie's conceptual thinking and her craft as a modern classical composer allow her to congenially translate his lyrics into a modern electronic language, which is influenced by techno and electronica.

"Andersworld"​ is already an extremely multi-faceted work of art, which combines club music, storytelling and a curious approach to classical and electronic instruments in a virtuoso way, resulting in an album that always rests harmoniously in itself. As if the influences and facets weren't diverse enough, the follow-up Andersworld Remix album takes that to the next level: across eleven remixes, eight artists stemming from a close yet extended circle of friends sharpen the electronic and club-oriented dimension of Maries songs.
"Andersworld Remixes" will be released on Oktober 1th by Broque. www.broque.de

Tom was born on October 24, 1979 in Sonneberg. At the age of 16 he discovered his love for electronic music. At that time he was inspired by music sets of Richie Hawtin, Karotte and many other artists.He also had a big interest in spinning records.
Tom began to create Mixes... He put on records in many reputable locations in his homeland and at numerous radio stations like Sputnik Radio for example. He convinced lots of parties with his ingenious DJ Skills and also wants to convince you. For Tom electronic music is just timeless.

Marie Wilhelmine Anders is a wanderer in music.

Since she was 5 years old, she has had violin and music theory lessons. But it was the piano that had to come into the house. For three years she taught herself and invented music whenever she came along. Her wish to study composition was fulfilled at the University Of The Arts Berlin, but only after a excursion into sound engineering, the East Berlin underground music scene (as a keyboarder) and drum playing. Her versatility was probably as much a part of her cradle as her enormous musical talent. She made excursions into sound art (sound installations in Berlin and Nuertingen) and could not be satisfied with writing a score. She therefore completed her music studies in Stuttgart, where she was able to realise her great talent for musical improvisation, her joy of movement and the desire to become a music teacher.

During this time, in addition to her solo activities as an improvisor (piano and electronics), she founded two ensembles - Unterton and Hammerhaus - which brought together groove and free-flowing improvised forms from different perspectives. She initiated and directed "momentmusik" - a "concert series for experimental and improvised music, visual arts, performance and language" at the "Theater Rampe Stuttgart", which established the connection between her ensembles and the national and international scene.

In 2005 she ended her concert activity and moved back to Berlin. She learned to play the electric bass, began producing her music with Cubase and publishing it under the pseudonym Marie Wilhelmine Anders.

She discovered the poems of Robert Louis Stevenson and began to develop her new electronic musical language along his verses. Marie's conceptual thinking and her craft as a modern classical composer allow her to congenially translate his lyrics into a modern electronic language, which is influenced by techno and electronica. She has released three albums since then. Particularly noteworthy among them are the 2020 releases on the Munich record label Broque: "Andersworld" and the recently released "Andersworld Remixes".

As always, I am impressed by her accuracy in everything she does. Marie is the secret phoenix among my friends, who puts on a new and even more splendid plumage after each ashes. MARIE WILHELMINE ANDERS is a wanderer in music. Musically and instrumentally trained since her earliest childhood, she received her first technical training as a sound engineer at GDR television. She played keyboards in a punk band in the East Berlin underground music scene, created field recordings and sound installations, studied classical composition at the University Of The Arts Berlin, and graduated as a music teacher at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart. In Stuttgart she was an active part of the experimental improvisational scene playing piano as well as a set of electronics. There she founded two ensembles, "Unterton" and "Hammerhaus", both of which brought together groove and free-flowing improvised forms from different perspectives. Additionally, she initiated and directed “momentmusik"—a concert series for experimental and improvised music, visual arts, performance and spoken word, which established the connection between her ensembles and the national and international scenes. 

In 2005 she ended her concert activity and moved back to Berlin. Eager for new forms of expression, Marie learned to play the electric bass, and began producing her music using DAWs and publishing it under the pseudonym Marie Wilhelmine Anders.

Marie's conceptual thinking and her craft as a modern classical composer allow her to congenially translate non-musical concepts into a modern electronic language, influenced by techno, electronica, ambient music and drum & bass. Between 2018 and 2023 she released 6 albums, 2 EP’s, over 10 remixes and more than 20 mixes. As a producer, Marie likes to work alone and independently. She is also increasingly in demand as a remixer.
