Nick is a professional Musician, Songwriter, and Entertainer has been performing and professionally for about over 25 years.  He has opened for such legendary acts with his band Southern Crescent as T.G Sheppard, Gene Watson, and O.B. McClinton, Dixiana, and The Masters 5.   Nick began writing while attending Clemson University, and has numerous songs pitched to such artists as Alan Jackson, Trace Adkins, George Strait, Wynona Judd, Travis Tritt, Ronnie Milsap, Tricia Yearwood, Jamie O’Neal, Lee Greenwood, and Clay Walker.  He resides in Nashville where he is currently writing with hit song writer as Gerald Smith (What Part of No Don’t You Understand-Lori Morgan and Every Second, Every Minute, Every Hour of Every Day-Collin Rae).  In the past 14 months Nick as a songwriter has licensed some thirteen songs to various artists both domestic and overseas such as Indie Artists Brandy Williams and Irish award winning artist Sean McAloon His style of writing and singing includes Country, Pop, Positive and Contemporary Christian, some R & B along with Jazz, as well as Christmas songs.  I’ve Nick performs regularly with his band in various festivals and private functions as well as regularly at the most popular Writers’ Venues in Nashville such as The Bluebird Café, Douglas Corner, the Indigo Lounge and the Vanderbilt Commodore Lounge along with countless other coffee houses and packed arenas.  He is an excellent keyboardist and rhythm guitarist and has serve as the lead singer and Keyboard player for the Southern Crescent Band (www.southerncrescentband.com) since 1981.  His greatest influences are his Dad, James H. Nichols, Dan Seals, Michael W. Smith, The Beatles and James Taylor.

My experience as a songwriter was somewhat limited before I moved to Nashville from my native Saint Louis, Missouri; I had been in groups before and done some limited songwriting, but nothing on the scale of what I do now.  I have been fortunate to work with some eclectic, powerful individuals who draw so much of themselves on the songwriter's canvas, and I have taken all of their experiences to heart as I write my own story through this music.

My greatest efforts so far have been with the group Ellvee, fronted by my dearest friend and  prolific songwriter Lauren Vessio.  I have been so lucky to work with such a genuine talent, and the experience has deeply affected how I approach my own work.  Lauren and I's collaborative efforts are some of the best music I've ever worked on in my life, and I look forward to the amazing songs we create in the future.

I have also been fortunate to work with exceptionally talented songwriters such as Ashley Norton, Meredith Blis, and Grant Reiff.  Through our combined experiences, I have gained the confidence I needed to become a better performer and songwriter.
