The small town of Rygge is primarily  known for two things: It’s vast strawberry fields and the recently shut down international airport. Perhaps not so strange that farming heir Andreas Kase, in all his suburban boredom, filled his spare time with guitars. Together with his closest friends, Kase formed a songwriting-companionship that would flourish into the band ‘Divest’. 

With one leg planted in early 2000’s New York, the other in Manchesters Britpop - as well as a third leg somewhere in the laidback indie sphere - the quartet started to upload demoes and live recordings online. These recordings were recognised by national radio station P3, who playlisted ‘throw me off’ before it was officially released. 
Not long after ‘wingside’ made sure of critical acclaims at several international music blogs. After being selected as «Månedens Urørt» in april they released their debut EP «No Hit’s Only Hats» on Sellout! Music in May 2019. 

Divest spent the summer playing festivals and self-recording their debut album, due next spring. True to the band’s DIY-ethos, the record is filled with spontaneous one takes and blistering guitar riffs, without ever compromising their flair for melody and catchy pop tunes.

The beginning of October sees the release of Divest’s upcoming single ‘Passing Through’ - a romantic keyboard-driven up tempo bop about long distance relationships.
