The mix: 

I went to the Dominican Republic originally to see Bad Bunny in Santo Domingo, with my cousin Gabriela. 
 
Friends and other folks that I met at the concert suggested that I go north of the island, to Las terrenas. there my friend martiño call me that is a Beach called playa Cosón. 

When we went to that Beach I understood why my friend had directed me there. Probably in the most beautiful beach that I have ever been to, we rolled a joint and started having a beautiful day of relax by the water. Then a storm came. We sought shelter at a house nearby and then when the storm passed, my cousin and some friends we had met along the way suggested I should play some music with my controller. 

I didn't know how much of a good or bad idea would be to play on the sand but I did it anyways. Maybe because of the joint or maybe because of the beautiful beach that was in front of my eyes. Maybe a little bit of both. 

So I started playing a set with music that I had recently found after I attended a Mister Sunday party in Brooklyn New York, the week prior.

 I had never played this music before this day. 

The result is this live set, which is one of my all times favorites.

NY House Heat (Live from Playa Cosón, Dominican Republic)

This is the first mix I worked on with Argentinean legend Gera SD. We got inspired by the House tracks of all times, that he used to play in Buenos Aires in the 90s. 

We used this mix as a way for both of us to dive into the past, to surface it to ourselves in the present, and be on the same page.

Brooklyn House Heat

I went to Austin on the day of the funeral of my grandfather, my Tata. Instead of going back to Chile, I decided to stay on my work trip and honor my Tata with a BBQ , a dish we shared many times. this trip was also the first ever presentation in front of an audience showing my work at Documented. During the last day, I decided to walk, scooter and biker around Austin, a place I had, for years, wanted to visit.

The mix:
I never had Zurich in my mind as a place to visit. I just went after I got an invitation from Richard, a colleague I met in Perugia, Italy, during the International Journalism Festival. That trip to Switzerland was marked by Deep House. It was present in the music I was mixing at the time, but also in the music I danced to, my first night, when I took a microdose of LSD without by mistake. Oops. So I danced, with my heart, to Deep House, for hours, at a park of Zurich. Enjoy the following mix, based on this inspiration.

Zurich Deep House

I made this set inspired by SPFDJ's fast mix of many tracks in a short period of time. It resulted in what I think is my best mix to date. 

I mixed this while on a work trip to Belem, Para in Brazil. Cheers to the incredible souls I met in that trip. This is a mix of techno tracks I had been playing around at the time, with some Brazilian music I listened to at the time of my trip. 

In my career as a journalist, the Amazonia trip in September 2023 was the most impactful milestone I can remember, as I was teaching the ways I conduct journalism in New York, to Brazilian colleagues that cover, work and live with underserved communities. 

This is mix is the result of that. I hope you enjoy.
