Joseph Karre is an entrepreneur, record label executive, music video director and songwriter-producer. He is best known as the founder and CEO of Karre Ventures and ML1 Records. Since 2013, Karre has been involved in the production and marketing of 56 songs and 6 albums. ML1 Records songwriting/publishing catalog has acquired numerous songs with legendary artists including Elton John, Rihanna, Kanye West, Alicia Keys, Kid Cudi, John Legend, Fergie (of the Black Eyed Peas), The Dream, Charlie Wilson and many others. One of the most notable songs in the catalog is Kanye West's 2X GRAMMY-winning hit "All Of The Lights" featuring Rihanna. The single was RIAA certified 4X Platinum and charted Top 40 in 12 countries. It was the 4th single on his critically acclaimed album "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" that won a Grammy for Best Rap Album and is ranked as the #1 Hip-Hop Album Of All Time by Pitchfork, the #8 Greatest Album Of All Time by Entertainment Weekly, the #24 Greatest Album Of All Time by NME and the #1 Album of 2010-2015 by Billboard.

A bit of a somebody in some circles, a bit of a nobody in others....

A year taken out for a gad about the globe, chugging along with the same set of tunes on a ropey MP3; my technophobe ways had finally caught me up.
A fella can only take so much.
Back then, coaching me to upload new songs onto a piece of plastic wizardry? You had to sit me down and imagine you were talking to a 3 year old.
Then the spark.
Just what would it take to write a song? Desperation to break away from another ‘Groundhog Day’ on my MP3 triggered something. A trip to a second hand store, $40 lighter, one acoustic guitar and a week of furious practice later and there it was - my first song.
That was then…

The last few years have provided a diverse and talented range of artists I've been lucky enough to work with, including Hannah Jones Ross Kerr and Lesley Roley. Hannah has previously worked with Elton John and Boy George. Ross replaced Tony Hadley in Spandau Ballet while Lesley’s past supporting roles include touring with both Don McLean and Madeleine Peyroux.

The seeds of early music passions were planted by the pick n mix of family LP’s – 10cc, Abba, The Beatles, The Carpenters, Stevie Wonder, Nick Drake, the Sex Pistols, The Stranglers, Dave Brubeck et al and continue to leave their mark.
Any personal dreams of bringing the singer part to the songwriting were quickly cut short on realising my own voice has all the vocal talent of a 60-a-day Benson & Hedges dependent laboratory beagle shrieking at the moon.

From classic rock to pop, dance, swing jazz to house, I try to write in the style of my music heroes whose names are too many to mention.
