Tenor Marcio de Oliveira is a recent graduate of the M.M. in Voice Performance & Pedagogy at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ. He studies with Laura Brooks Rice and coaches with J.J. Penna, Susan Ashbaker, and Andrew Megill. He is currently in Boston, MA pursuing a solo- and choral-singing career, singing mostly early music, but especially Bach and Handel. Marcio sings regularly with the Advent Choir at The Church of the Advent on Beacon Hill in Boston, MA, in addition to the Handel & Haydn Society. Marcio has won numerous awards, presenting "an agile, multifaceted voice and a vibrant stage presence". He is a graduate of California State University, Stanislaus, where he studied voice with Joseph Wiggett. Marcio is originally from Turlock, CA.
