In the mid-90s, he started listening to something different. Motorbass, Cassius, Daft Punk, Underworld. Sounds that weren’t common in Buenos Aires but left a mark. Over time, the search went deeper: fewer vocals, more synths, more groove. House in its purest form.

By 2012, he started DJing and traveling with his music, playing across Argentina, New York, Punta del Este, Paris, and Berlin. His journey began with French Touch and filter disco, but over the years, his sound became more deep, abstract, and raw. The music of Detroit, New York, and Chicago shaped his identity. In rough basslines and loose rhythms, he found something personal.

Today, his selection stays true to that vision: uncompromising deep house, analog textures, pianos floating over deep grooves. Music that is felt more than explained.

In a time of convenience and instant gratification, he remains committed to physical format, digging, and selection as an act of resistance. From that same philosophy, BLA BLA BAIRES and LIVING ANALÓGICA were born—spaces where music is the center, and vinyl is the only rule.

In a pinch, if forced to employ adjectives to describe the Mark E. Quark style, one would come up with words like “groovy, laid back and nasty” house music. But putting grammar aside, it’s reasonable to just say that Quark has internalized influences from DJ Harvey, Idjut Boys, Jeno, and Andrew Weatherall, mashed them up, and given life to a signature style and a creature which is totally unique. This creature is currently brought to life for public consumption  at Moonshake in San Diego.
