Friday night Live @ Hands On Records (WE ♥ OLDSKOOL SESSIONS #82)

A beautiful slice of history, and a permanent reminder of just how good Pete Wardman and Trade was [and still is] He brought it down at the start, then after nearly 12 hours on the floor, with the sweat pouring off us, the set went into orbit and finished with TdV [doubled up!] at over 165bpm The phazeing [flangeing?] isn`t post production, it was done on the night. Still, to this day, the most intense musical experience I`ve ever had. It`s a 17 year old tape, forgive the gaps for the ad-breaks taken out, worse still the ones left in but what can you do? Just enjoy it and remember the good times, that`s what!!....Absolutely incredible,..a thing of beauty is a joy forever. [Keats]

As with all of the sets in the series, Pete Wardman is last one on at Trade, manages to pull the bpms down to let it rip and take it back up again. A proper set. Check out the mix into Mistakes,...flawless. As always, there are 2 parts, definitely check out the second part as this is where it goes into overdrive. Xmas 97 live at Trade. Please excuse the partition and the gaps where the ads used to be but there are moments of beauty in this set that only Pete Wardman can do. You`ll know them when you hear them. Features a rare tune by TdV put in the best setting possible, see if you can spot it... It`s in 3 parts,..don`t ask,..just listen to all 3. I wish I`d known,.I wouldn`t have chopped the ad bits out at the time,....honestly!  It`s still worth keeping for posterity though.

Mid Jan 98, from Kiss 100.. It was the last one in a series of 10 [I only have 7 of them] so he turns the wick up just a little bit more and really goes for it. Just an awesome set, pure Pete Wardman. Tough and chunky and even when the music goes proper hard, there`s more than enough melody and spacey tunes to lighten the mood and give you a chance to catch your breath before the next onslaught. That`s what he does best. Listen to what he does with a random tune and the acapella of Twisted,..awesome,..very tricky, trust me, I`ve tried! And the intro to Snap!,..then it goes really special, really gorgeous tunes,..then `ave some. What a fucking DJ!   Excuse the gaps for the ad breaks, I taped it off the radio at the time,,..who knew? The cover photo is the last ever one I took in Trade in Turnmills, when the lights went up, Pete was playing at the time so I thought it was entirely appropriate. As always, in 2 parts, at the end of part 1, give it 10 seconds and part 2 will load automatically. Turn it up!!!  No,.. way louder than that ffs!!
