Thanks for adding these treasures Parker!  I notice the quality is something less than probably 128MB/s im guessing.  You can really tell.  Was that the going rate back in the day, or did they just get recorded alot earlier i wonder?

This mix has been on my Mixcloud for some time, but thought it would be good to have on here as it's downloadable! I did this mix back in lockdown as an extension of a livestream set I had done for Movin House a few weeks before. Tripoli for me was THE label in the mid to late 90s and early part of the 2000s, and I played pretty much every release. So here's my six hour tribute of my favourites and hope yours too!

Toni [!] de Vit recorded live in Ibiza. I love this one to bits as it was the first mix I got that wasn`t commercially available in the record shops. Thinking,..if there`s one,..there must be more and it started "the search" Apologies for the sound quality on part 1, it is a 16 year old tape of a tape, and for the gap on part 2, that was where the tape switches over. Oh well!  What a wicked set though, utterly beautiful, Hellfire into Made in Hong Kong,...chokes me every time,...the guy was a genius.

Tony de Vit Live in Ibiza 97 pt 2

You definitely wouldn`t have heard this before, only 45 mins, this is proper rare, nice and early, from about late 94 /early 95. [Correction, the cognicenti have put it early / mid 93!] Second half of one of Tony`s sets. It`s definitely Tony as Ian M has verified it. [I thought it was Ian as it was so tough] He said that Tony was the only one with the balls to play No Women Allowed in Trade at that time lol. Tough as nuts, get used to it, another piece of the jigsaw. Wow!  Many thanks to Barry Williams for the tape x  Apologies in advance for the stolen Trade photo x

Tony de Vit Live at Trade !!!

Well, this is as rare as it gets. Probably early to mid 95. Definitely him, definitely live at Trade, short and sweet, the second half of his 90 min set. Loads of favourites and lots of ones you wouldn`t expect, some really nice surprises. Apologies for the sound quality, my normal service is playing up so I had to do it straight off the tape. Don`t worry, in time, I`ll fix it, clean it right up, boost all the levels and pitch it back down to normal. It`s still a lovely find, an uncut gem, a diamond in the rough. Many thanks to Barry Williams for the tape.

Listen to this! Once again, as rare as a very rare thing, definitely him, definitely live at Trade. Early to mid 95, some wicked choices and combinations, proper quality! Again, only 45 mins long, the second half of his set, but still a beautiful find [I`ll boost the sound in a couple of weeks and replace the file] Think about what he would have been playing up and down the country all weekend and to then turn up at Trade and just let rip, no wonder he said that he had a record box purely for the ones he was going to play at Trade. Here's my little old skool techno tribute to the clubnight I near enough grew up in for my early dj'ing days and finally being a resident for 8 odd years. Obviously, this is just scratching the surface regarding the selection of tunes we all played down there. But here's a starter with more on it's way.
And with "Trade 25 The Final" just passing at the weekend (25th Oct 2015), here's a small selection of tunes that some of the Trade Babies went mental over on the dancefloor, mainly played by residents Daz & Trevor & Tony de Vit and over time by myself.
The final Trade event at "The Egg" in London was unbelieveable with many faces from old & new attending including some famous names and dj's from all over the globe.
It's an event which will be talked about for years to come.
I hope you enjoy the mix and try to remember those mental mornings/days down in the depths of Turnmills. It was definitely "FIERCE" and "RULIN'" at TRADE.
