Hey cats and kittens….behold….my latest ‘Journey Through...’ show No.84 for your spiritual listening pleasure.   Another excursion into the musical cosmos of my mind and ever-expanding music library. I met Alexis Yasky & Uriel Esquenazi from Mexico City when we played together at a Kimika party somewhere in Baja, California in the early 2000's. They turned out to be top dudes with musical tastes that lined up perfectly with mine. At the time, they were making nice parties in Mexico City at Club Rioma called BOUNCE! and were kind enough to invite me out to play one. They ended up being brilliant hosts, solid DJs, and their party and crowd were insanely fun to play for.

On the DJ block since 1992 – albeit a very small block in the first 10 years – if you are an amateur of that big play we call nightlife, chances are you either danced, got drunk or got annoyed while Red D was playing some records.
A general nightlife instigator since 1991 is how Red D likes to describe himself. Always on the move, always looking for that next record and always ready to rock any party. At the heart of Red D’s continued zest for life and music lies a wealth of inspiration: from the people and sounds of his favourite city Detroit to his upbringing in the legendary Belgian club scene of the 90’s, from digging and discovering vinyl old and new to teaching his DJ classes in Belgian art school.

Red D firmly believes that the knowledge from the past feeds the future. Testament to that are his labels We Play House Recordings, Red Basics and Club Belgique on which he releases music he likes, period. Taking in more and more studio time of his own in recent years his discography is growing ever stronger, with the same renegade trendless approach he applies to his DJ’ing.

One allnighter after another, solo, as one half of FCL or next to revered tastemakers and talents like Lefto, Lady Linn, San Soda, Kerri Chandler, etc, from clubs to festivals, in Belgium and abroad: Red D delivers passion, lust and a profound knowledge of music and the dancefloor in every beat he drops. To quote his friend and legend Kerri Chandler: Red D always plays the right record at the right time.

Mark Johns has been a DJ and visual artist since 1991, getting his start in San Jose at Club F/X. 
He began doing multi-image projection shows (now called VJ'ing) for underground parties in the Bay Area such as Rave Called Sharon, Destiny, The Gathering, Toontown, By the People, Stompy, and many more. 
In 1994 Johns partnered with San Jose dj's Rick Preston, DJ M3, and Loren to launch a weekly party called "The Velvet Shop". Beginning in a small lesbian bar, the weekly event has brought the worlds finest house music producers and dj's to the Bay Area for over 14 years and is still going strong with the help of MJ Gamez. 
Mark continues to DJ and VJ making guest appearances around the bay and has resident VJ gigs with Stompy/Sunset, Salted, and Green Gorilla Lounge.
