About the CD:
What more can I say about this opening track on the Sasha mix, the classic bird/owl noise just makes my brain explode with rave like 'what the fuck is this' questions... This disc was part of a triple MixMag pack I bought (I also bought 2 other packs) but this CD in particular was on repeat for a lot of my late teens.

The second track, Rave Generator takes it even higher and the quality is endless right through the Mackintosh CD as well. I highly recommend everyone to check out this mix, another 10/10 and needs as much press as possible. Turn it up, and enjoy the mix.

046 - Mixmag Live! Vol 3 feat. Sasha and CJ Mackintosh (1996)

This mix is the result of an amazing time at Fabric last weekend with Craig Richards at the helm. I've been on a bit of a nostalgic one ever since. Fabric opened when i was sixteen and has basically provided the soundtrack to my entire adult life ever since my very first tyrant back then. As a fairly lost teenager, like many, it gave me sanctuary and a lot of relief, which it continues to do.

Enough of being emosh. This selection is a completely unscripted dive into my records on Friday afternoon so it has definitely got a live feel. There are a few bumps and scrapes along the way! It represents a balance of old and new, while taking a lot of inspiration and steer from memories in room one and three in particular.

A twenty-five year love affair... (an ode to Fabric)

Long standing NTS DJ's and curators Jack Rollo and Elaine Tierney, commonly known as Time Is Away, step up next for the 47th edition of the Off The Record mix series. Having been recognised for their vast knowledge of folk, esoteric and eclectic sounds which is displayed in their curated compilations for labels like A Colourful Storm and Efficient Space - they have also been known to dig deep into more clubbier sounds like house, rare leftfield and DIY electronics. For their mix Jack and Elaine focus more on the latter but bringing tracks that would pay homage to more melodic sounds. We had a brief chat with Time Is Away about the mix and what they have coming up.
