The most recent release on 3rd Avenue welcomes Dutch producer Daniel Testas to the label with his latest melodic progressive house single titled "Bending Lights."

Amsterdam based Daniel Testas has been working as a composer and producer for quite some time. His first little steps into the world of music creation were made at the beginning of the nineties. Inspired by progressive, pioneering people like Brian Eno, Juan Atkins, Pump Panel, Afrika Bombaataa and Kraftwerk, he felt the urge to take the path of music himself. After lots of experimentation in home studio's, Daniel teamed up with his brother to form the Brothers Testas, creating and releasing house music on illustrious UK labels like Sperm Records and Jam Records, and playing big clubs and raves in Amsterdam.Next up was Project2000 this exotic (live) drum&bass band had huge success at the beginning of the new millennium (releases on Universal Records). After that came many lounge and chill albums with Praful and Adani&Wolf (Therapy Records) andmore recently the Balearic house scene was entered with the group Bo Geste (releases on Prison entertainment and Jalapeno Records). But... blood runs thicker than water, so Daniel has gone back to his production roots and his old, but first love: house music.Besides these activities Daniel has always also composed a lot of electro-acoustic music. That could be either autonomous or for film, dance and video projects. In these projects almost everything that inspires Daniel in composition and production come together in an imaginative symbiosis: sampling and synthesis, abstraction, accessibility, musique concrete, soundscape-design, sound and melody counterpoint, spectral and spatial processing, beat-creation, etc.

'Through Golan Zocher and Eric Lune, Proton Music is delighted to showcase "North to South. Remixes come from outstanding Polish and Belarusian artists.

With impressive artistic pedigrees in their own rights, Golan Zocher and Eric Lune have individually found success with a host of impressive production credits to their name. Owner of the Bloom Records imprint, Zocher has seen his own music feature on the likes of JOOF, Perspectives Digital, and fellow countryman Juan Pablo Torrez's Clubsonica Records. Similarly, Eric Lune has been a staple on such celebrated imprints as 3rd Avenue, Juicebox Music and Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank. Remixing GMJ's "Mystic Sea" for Proton in June 2020, Golan Zocher now joins forces with Eric Lune as the Colombian/Australian axis deliver a glorious, bouncing progressive house gem as a head-shaking bass groove and shaker-fuelled percussive top-line combine with harmonically detuned analogue chords and delicate keys that shimmer in rich delays. Building to a crescendo at the the mid-point breakdown, the track rises and falls with ease to dramatic effect. A beautifully crafted "Ambient Edit" adds an extra dimension as rhythmic elements are stripped away to reveal a glorious array of motifs and melodies that cascade and coruscate in counterpoint fashion to produce a wonderfully evocative edit.

Michael A is another Proton Music regular with a long and distinguished career with the label. Starting on Particles with his "Behind the Moon" and "Sapphire" EPs in 2014 and 2017, a clutch of originals saw "Bright Hope", "My Style", "Aura Tears", "Geometria" and "Twinkling Stars", light up the label between 2017 and 2020 with a distinctive and evolving melodic sound. Remixes for the likes of James Monro, Rauschhaus and James Warren are now accompanied by a stunning interpretation of "North to South". A smooth and silky use of the central melody from the Zocher and Lune original has created a Sasha-esque remix that is reminiscent of the legend's "Airdrawndagger" sound with its cascading and overlapping delays. A typically impressive rhythm section provides percussive power aplenty as counterpoint melodies and new distorted motifs add depth and range to a highly impressive offering.

From "North to South" Golan Zocher and Eric Lune have been joined by Kobana and Michael A on a true voyage of discovery.'

BIOGRAPHIE

DJ Mark Steven took a liking to House music in the year 2000. The rhythmic and lively beats of Tech-House/Techno took a hold on Mark. He began to mix in the basement of his home, which led to a few DJ gigs in the rocking clubs of eastern Switzerland. Stefan Gübeli knows what you want to hear.

Mark Steven saw the light of day in 1980, soon after he started keyboard lessons. The rhythmic sounds penetrated the bone and left traces until the year 2001. Equipped with turntables and records, he began in the basement of the family home, located to the music. He quickly realized, how two songs composed and experimented with can mix. Shortly thereafter he met Dj Oliviera, with whom he played his first live performances and gave his first name among the Peoples Party. He wanted something better though, so in 2004 he started producing. Mark realized very quickly that producing is not simple. After several years on the drum machine, he ran the fingers of producing, and again devoted himself increasingly to hang up. A creative break with music presented by Mark Steven 2007 to 2010. He devoted himself to training and is now a proud father of a boy and a girl. 

It was not until 2011, he began to hang up again, parties organized under the name "Crime Time" and dared again to produce their own tracks. After such a long break, it was easy for him to write new songs.
