I'm surprised (because I usually like the extended version of things), but I agree with you, Mark - I like this one better. It's exactly what you describe: a little tighter in the arrangement, more purposeful. Well done.

I felt that the original version was too long, too busy, and rather sprawling and shapeless.
So I've cut down the length and some of the repetition. I've also thinned out some of the parts a little to produce what I hope is a tighter, more elegant and minimal whole.
