I'm an amateur, short time singer song writer. My songs are all DEMOs recorded when the house is quiet. It's just me and a guitar. No frills. Please forgive the occasional sloppiness. If you enjoy any of my music please give me a follow, like or share. I will reciprocate.

Guitarist, Bassist and songwriter. I coined the name Sonic Gypsy in 1992 when writing my first album of music, my musical tastes and likes are vast and broad ranging from Instrumental Rock,  Hard Rock, Blues, Jazz, Jazz Fusion, Funk, Soul, Spanish Classical and even Folk. I'm am quite literally a Sonic Gypsy.

Hi there,
first of I all I would like to say THANK YOU for all your likes and comments during the last months and years and say SORRY that I did not answer for a longer time. 

A few years ago I decided to make a change in my life and learned a new profession (physiotherapist). It took me a few years so that my focus was another one than my music. But now, after finishing the training and arriving in my new job I returned to my passion "piano music". 
Well, I did not stop to play the piano, but it did not really flow. Too many thoughts in my mind. 
But now, it feels so good and easy to play and ideas for new tracks are coming back. And exactly this mood and these emotions made it possible to create two new tracks within a short time and to record them in my favourite recording studio "Tonstudio Katzer" in Nürnberg (Thank you again, Romin! Great job! Always a great time!)

So from now on I will be more present on my platform and try my very best to answer to the comments I got and get! Thank you for your support!! Take care! :-)

my name is Claudia Schlegel and I am glad you drop by. 🙂

I learned to play the piano as a child for several years. Honestly I don´t really know how many. But already in that time I prefered to compose than just to play already existing classical piano pieces. For sure I learned quite a lot from my piano teacher as he was a really good pianist and it was great to play pieces from Tschaikowky, Rachmaninoff etc. But it did not catch me enough for continuing. So I stopped and concentrated on sports and came back to playing  the piano not until seven years ago. It was like „love at second sight“. Since that time I compose my own piano pieces in my leisure time, by which I can express my emotions and handle different situations in live. My music helps me quite a lot to calm down. 

You are very welcome to listen to them. If you like them I will be very happy! If not, no problem at all. I am glad that at least you gave it a try! 

My tracks "Grateful", "Lost in dreams", "Let go", "Traumpfad", "Neuanfang" and "A Sunday in November" (studio version) have been recorded in "Tonstudio Katzer" in Nürnberg in Germany in 2019 and 2022, my new tracks "For more humanity" and "Open your heart" in October 2024. Thank you Romin! Amazing job! Always a great experience and pleasure to be in your studio and to get your professional input! :-)

Barbara Burgess was born at Eastbourne, Sussex. Her Great Uncle who lived in Massachusetts was a published poet as was her cousin Anthony who also lived at Eastbourne.
Barbara is a songwriter, poet, and author. 
Barbara has been writing since she was first able to hold a pencil. She loved English lessons at school and wrote her first poem for a school end of year competition. It was about her Whippet. 
Barbara had several poems published in the local Luton Newspapers and regularly writes poetry generally about everyday life.
It was not until 2019 that Barbara wrote her first song which was triggered by a day trip to a park with the Grandchildren where they went on a miniature railway ride. “Train to Nowhere” came into being.
A friend of Barbara’s set her a challenge for her second song and another friend told her about The U K Songwriting Contest which she entered in 2020 and got some excellent star ratings for her first attempts and this spurred her on. In 2021 and 2022 some of her entries gain semi finals status. The rest is history, as they say. 
Barbara continues regularly to write songs, poems and books and enter them into competitions.
