I'm here to share and appreciate all genres of music.  Most of what I am currently recording is electronic, and largely ambient, in nature; however, I have recently started recording cover songs of various tunes.  So, since I'm no longer strictly ambient (only mostly), I've changed my SoundCloud name to Smooth Waters Sonic Journeys.  Headphones greatly enhance the listening experience. My current musical project consists of composing music and tagging other artists, regardless of their genre. In recent years, I've discovered great talents, both professional and amateur, self-taught like myself. I also want to highlight musicians who stand out for their beautiful songs. Thank you to all my followers for believing in me, and I also appreciate the excellent music they create. Greetings to all! One more clarification about the musicians I follow: each author's music fills me with joy and is a source of energy for life!

if you're questioning why or how i'm able to upload on a frequent basis, simply put - i have A LOT of time on my hands at this point in my existence, a wealth of music/sounds to draw upon, and a decent collection of software to make things (e.g. both the synth and fx arturia vst collections). i'm not just auto-generating ai pieces ad nauseum, at the same time i have nothing against using ai in the creative process, but not as an outright replacement for creation. i really think the witch hunt over it all is a bit ridiculous, fueled by the greed pig corporate media companies mostly. 

one thing i've learned about making at least a little bit of money from streaming my music beyond measley penny scraps, i have to upload frequently and i've been experimenting with reuploading/reposting my tracks for better play counts (for now), if even it only results in cutting costs.

Hello dear Soundcloud listeners,

I'm still determined to continue producing music, the music of Pier Will, which can only be heard on Soundcloud and which can also be recorded... for now.

The world of music is rapidly moving towards a huge upheaval where the true musician will very quickly become "rare," or even more and more of a shadow, a peculiarity, a memory. This time is not so far away, as AI takes a predominant place in everything that touches us and surrounds us and in Music, this can already be heard very clearly!

Apparently, everyone is taking this lightly, and the few diehards are being sneered at as anti-progress terrorists, for now. I already have two work computers disconnected from the internet, which house my software and everything I need to work. No more updates for them to work properly... updates are only necessary if you need to connect! Another computer is dedicated solely to internet connection and will be used exclusively for streaming the tracks.

This decision has serious consequences for my production, as there are no more options to add anything to it. It's a gamble, but for me, it's an obligation to remain completely independent and free from AI.

Le monde de la musique s'achemine rapidement vers un bouleversement majeur où le véritable musicien deviendra très vite « rare », voire de plus en plus une ombre, une singularité, un souvenir. Ce temps n'est pas si lointain, car l'IA prend une place prépondérante dans tout ce qui nous touche et nous entoure, et en musique, cela se voit déjà très clairement !

Apparemment, tout le monde prend cela à la légère, et les quelques irréductibles sont méprisés comme des terroristes anti-progrès, pour l'instant. J'ai déjà deux ordinateurs de travail déconnectés d'Internet, qui hébergent mes logiciels et tout ce dont j'ai besoin pour travailler. Plus besoin de mises à jour pour qu'ils fonctionnent correctement… les mises à jour ne sont nécessaires que si vous avez besoin de vous connecter ! Un autre ordinateur est dédié uniquement à la connexion Internet et sera utilisé exclusivement pour le streaming des morceaux.

Cette décision a de graves conséquences sur ma production, car il n'y a plus aucune possibilité d'y ajouter quoi que ce soit. C'est un pari risqué, mais pour moi, c'est une obligation de rester totalement indépendant et libre de toute IA.

These days, everything is recorded through my Mackie Onyx 8 analogue mixer.  I prefer to create sounds on my analogue synths but you'll also hear sounds created with my Korg Wavestate and Roland S-1.  All percussion/drums are played by me on my Native Instruments Maschine Mikro Mk3, where I spend a lot of time manipulating samples to hopefully get something original sounding.
