For this edition of the mix series, we invited both DJ and producer Jan Goertz. His productions as well as his mixes are refined and versatile as he explores the different atmospheres and subgenres of techno. Inspired by the club culture as he believes techno is "functional and works for and in a club. That's what this music is made for." 

The mix showcases a selection of 48 tracks through an unconventional way of mixing by using loops to create unity. 4-deck mixing and playing with a variety of elements is how he keeps the listener on their toes. His soulful track selection and minimalist approach give this mix character.

One of my favorite recordings from my residency period at Geheimclub Magdeburg.
Opening Gate7 06th July 2019 for Tension's live act.

My residential period and also the club itself will stay in my history, my heart and my mind for ever. I am proud to present to you an excerpt from the times that shaped me as an artist.

Jan Goertz from Magdeburg has been developing his skills as both, DJ and producer for almost 10 years. Besides for his releases on DREPT, BCCO, Vitus' Curse, and he is also known for his residency at Adapter Event series in club Mauerpfeiffer, Saarbrücken.

Using a multitude of tracks, loops, stems, and merging them into his very own and unique understanding of Techno, the young talent keeps chasing for the endless groove whenever playing. Like a competition "with and against the machines“, his 4-deck-magic pushes the boundaries of DJing - spiked with trippy melodies, atonal soundscapes, noise, and deep rumbling grooves which are the source of his inspiration. Get ready for his latest 2-hours-blend in this very manner & enjoy!

Grown up listening to the electro funk sound of Egyptian Lover and similar funkateers, Luke Eargoggle, aka Lukas Pettersson, now lives by the beach in Sweden where he makes music in peace.  Luke maintains the record label Stilleben Records and released some of his ultra funky electro tracks through Dutch label Bunker Records, German label Kommando 6 and more.
