there have been so many renditions of this song going around lately, some great and some less so. i thought i'd submit mine and hopefully, in your book, it falls in the former camp.

i got to take a solo weekend trip to london in march of 2024. i had been to london before, but never alone, and march 2, 2024 might be in the top ten days of my life. i've always known that london is my favorite city in the world, but on that day i was awake for 22 glorious hours to drink coffee, eat vegan donuts, shop, take in the architecture, sit and people watch, see sarah snook in the picture of dorian gray, and see cabaret for the first time. (adam melchor also put me on his guest list for his show with laufey that day, which was really the cherry on top.)

this show rocked me to my core. i was so impressed by the immersive elements, and felt sick to my stomach as i compared it to our modern day. this song has always been my favorite in the show (even as i saw it for the fourth time) because it is so clearly resonant of how the downfall of our societal morality can easily result in apathy, but it can kind of transcend that to be nihilism's theme song. i am not a nihilist in the slightest, but i love emcees that make it very clear that they do, in fact, care very much, but the circumstances they've found themselves in require them to shove that down.

i think a lot about the lyric, "if you kiss me, if we touch, warning's fair, i don't care very much." i am a romantic, and if someone kissed me, i would very much care. but i could imagine a world in which i'd lose the privilege of all-encompassing infatuation because that just can't be at the forefront when lives are on the line. that's schneider and schultz's story anyway. and it's terrifying and foreboding.

In 1970 the worm definitely turned for me..  I was too young for the Summer of Love and Woodstock but come Christmas but I had my Spirograph... Wheel inside a wheel , the journey began, my creative powers unleashed... Finally some psychedelia for us kiddos... my plastic so fantastic....

Just an ordinary knucklehead strumming my six-string and singing songs. All songs are original raw recordings of my songwriting journey of healing and finding peace.
