From a Late Northern Summer in 2025 and continuing into Fall. All lyrics and words written by Mark Brunke, music generated with or via prompt, both textual and musical, and then manipulated by me, Mark. It's really like coaxing a performance through careful suggestion. I'm an experienced musician. Similarly to how one would hire musicians and give them the details of a song. The lyric based pieces are all started from scratch. Updated: Mixing it up more, still everything in this Playlist, the music is written by me and Ai and I'm mixing, to distribution. I start with phone vocal or guitar melody notes, or old mixed demos. I have an exceptional level of control and just fiddle with it in Suno until it's done. That's what this is, writing music by iteration of original prompt and lyrics, now with melodic and rhythmic inputs. Yet another update, really more of a tool in my shed now, and I'm not going to give away what's in the sauce, you like, come on back, we'll have all the hits you love to hear. Blackbirds FC's third album!

This record has been a long labour of love for the band and features ten hand-tooled total bangers including the singles Rings Around the Sun, Lake of Stars and What's the Half-Life of Loving You?

Lyrically it talks about love (mainly gone wrong), politics (also going wrong), the young and the future (could go either way...). Musically it calls on the noisy spirits of all our influences including Wilco, The Church, the Go-Betweens, Beck and. Midnight Oil. 

The record title, Desire Lines, is partly a reference to the informal, unplanned pathways that people create despite the efforts of designers.

These lines typically cut across a planned route or area, often due to a more convenient or direct route and seemed like a good fit on a variety of levels for this record.

A melancholic cinematic pop-rock confession from someone who has experienced the spotlight’s burn firsthand. The narrator warns a younger dreamer not to mistake the glow for fulfillment, sharing hard-earned lessons about fame, loss of peace, and the emptiness that comes when the “quiet life” disappears. Powerful choruses and intimate verses create a bittersweet, emotional journey of regret, truth, and reluctant guidance.
