Marie Wilhelmine Anders’ new, multi-genre concept album “Frozen Music” follows up on her albums “Travels” (Broque) and “She’s Leaving” (Noisy Meditation). Being her fifth album, which refers to the poetry of Robert Louis Stevenson, "Frozen Music" also evolves around another main source if inspiration that is drum ’n’ bass: Sunchase (who mastered „Frozen Music“ superbly), dBridge, Calibre, Krust, Goldie (Mother!), Optical, T.Power, LTJ Bukem, Banaczech, are just a few of her main influences. While searching for the connecting elements between the poem template from the late 19th century and the time when d’n’b was created 100 years later, she found the sound of the foghorn, invented in the year Stevenson was born. The foghorn was first installed in Jamaican sound systems in the 1950s, and it created an unexpected power in the bass range, and from there found its way into the raves and d’n’b productions of the children of the "Windrush" generation in the UK. The second connecting element Marie found was the music of Claude Debussy: his "liquid works" (David Toop) - influenced by the music of Java, Cambodia, Vietnam, Japan - in turn influenced the later generation of ambient music producers. The chord progressions from his "Prelude" from "Pour Le Piano" reappear in a stretched and filtered form in Marie’s ambient intro track "Prelude" and in a few other places in "Frozen Music“. The nine tracks of "Frozen Music" find their very own form in the atmospheric recreation of the pictorial language of Stevenson's poem "Evensong" and in its relationship to some of the most fascinating genres in electronic music. Being a classically trained composer Marie juxtaposes ambient, breaks, d’n’b and techno. She approaches the boundaries of genres with a kind of innocence, always listening to the connections between the different styles. In “Frozen Music” she picks up on these connections. This works so well because the musical forms often don't adhere to what you would deem traditional structure. Dynamic quality, form, sound design and, last but not least, the mix of her music are all the more carefully coordinated and result in a catchy flow that makes „Frozen Music“ another masterpiece, that not only brings food for thought, but, most importantly, transports the grooving d’n’b sound of the 90’s onto the contemporary stage.

New EP “Silent Revolution” from Adrien d’Elzius (formerly known as hosmOz) shows different facets of real IDM music: while taking the roots from the masters of the genre, with the trademark glitches, clicks and cuts, it has its own unique face with all the subtle melodies and atmospheres – and everything between the lines. As everyone else, artists have to find their place and purpose, and in this increasingly cold and surreal world, invaded by artificial intelligence technologies, the task can be delicate. The only revolution worth carrying out is an inner revolution, and the track titles give a clue to where to look to find inspirations from those who can light a candle in our inner chaos.

Voici le Warm Up que j'ai réalisé lors de Concert Electronique, soirée durant laquelle j'ai partagé l'affiche avec Monsieur Marc Romboy ! 
J'ai pris beaucoup de plaisir à mixer ces 2 heures car poser une ambiance, transmettre de l'émotion, faire voyage et faire monter progressivement l'ambiance est un exercice que j'apprécie. Cela me permet aussi de jouer des tracks différents de d'habitude. Ici le mix oscille entre deephouse, afrohouse, melodic house et melodic techno.
Il y a quelques petites approximations mais c'est la magie du mix à l'ancienne :-)

Here is the Warm Up that I did during "Concert Electronic", an event where I shared the stage with Mr. Marc Romboy! I had a lot of fun mixing these 2 hours because creating an atmosphere, conveying emotion, taking the audience on a journey, and gradually building up the vibe is an exercise I enjoy. It also allows me to play different tracks than usual. In this mix, I move between deep house, afro house, melodic house, and melodic techno. There are a few small approximations, but that's the magic of old-school mixing :-)

This crazy idea somehow worked & the doofers got their first taste of gabber & hardcore, participating in some Hakken dance instruction, and enjoying a bowl of "Gabberpops" cereal to start the day 🥴🤣 Excellent sets by all that morning.

Sadly our dance instructor & MC were both plugged into a different mixer to the DJ mixer, so neither has made it onto the recording... For the full experience, I guess you just "had to be there!"

Also I accidentally packed an earlier mix of the last tune I played. D'oh! I'm sure nobody noticed.. XD but given I already played that one on another RPLAYG set, I have replaced it here with a brand spankin' new one <3
