Bearing the name as one of the most influential and highly rated electronic artists from the Spanish scene, UNER joins Cadenza for the first time with the two piece ‘Palua’ EP. Clocking up some flawless releases over the last few years on imprints such as Diynamic, 2020 Vision, Get Physical or Defected among others, UNER’s percussion and funk led productions have caught the ears of many and Cadenza proudly welcome him aboard in the opening weeks of 2012.

The EP’s A-side ‘Pallene’ marks itself with an insatiably rhythmic appetite. Bongo’s tap, tom drum’s echo and shakers hiss through the opening moments, underpinned by a simple yet provoking piano melody. Winding along at a pitter patter pace, UNER’s live percussion performed alongside Nacho Gonzalez make for an elegant and classic atmosphere. As ‘Pallene’ and its bellowing kick wriggle along sensually through scattered doubled keys, warm synths and shimmering hi-hats, it takes on a dance floor worthy interpretation of classic Latino Glamour.

Joined by B-side ‘Cocoua’, the ‘Palua’ EP retains its wriggling sensuality with pounding kicks and high contrasting hats and shakers. Building demurely with a rising bass line that mocks the clattering cymbal crashes, ‘Cocoua’ swings into dusky late night vibes as a melodic chord pattern makes its entrance. Gloriously simple in its stabbing arrangement. ‘Cocoua’ fels hypnotic, timeless and sexy as is the perfect companion for ‘Pallene’.

Beginning his relationship with Cadenza back in 2008, German production wizard Reboot has since frequented the label, his solid tech house soundscapes and innate ability to keep his musical structure moving forward being catalyst to his reputable name. Following the incredible ‘Shunyata’ album on Cadenza in 2010, Reboot is back on the imprint with the ‘Beautiful Parasite’ EP, including two remixes from Robert Dietz and Cesar Merveille.

Intense and suitably finickety, Reboot’s ‘Beautiful Parasite’ plays with glitches, sparks and tight wooden percussion patterns to begin. On first glance, it’s almost minimal in its confined touches but as a rumbling line of dark bass takes hold, “Beautiful Parasite” switches its identity and takes on a sultry persona. From there the changes come thick and fast with faint strings soaring gently in the background and sporadic cymbal crashes and hand claps creating texture. Reaching its dreamy edge with a warm and melodic mainline, the once stern atmosphere of “Beautiful Parasite” is coated in thick echo, doubled in depth and encased in melody. 

First Cadenza comrade to take remix duty is Frankfurt’s Robert Dietz. Taking his tribal and percussion heavy signature, Dietz warps “Beautiful Parasite” into a dance killer, enhancing the percussive flow of the original and integrating a rapid bass line that simply can’t fail to move. Chopping the melody into stabbing sequences and morphing the bass into an arp’d, electro tinged bomb; “Beautiful Parasite” finds its feet firmly on the dance floor through Robert Dietz’s remix. Cesar Merveille shifts the gear up another notch with a gloriously rapid attack for his remix.  Chaotic percussion and crunching samples smeared across “Beautiful Parasite’s” balmy palette, Cesar injects an exotic and slinky edge.

Lastly, as a digital only bonus, “In The Sky” closes ‘Beautiful Parasite’ on a fresh note. Introduced with a vocal swoon fit for a diva, “In The Sky” breaks into a contradictory concoction of voltaic beats thereafter. Hissing shakers, plentiful claps and a rubbery bass line collide as the atmosphere moves up and down between subtle builds and breaks. Securing its groove with the epic ‘Your Loving Arms’ lyrics, “In The Sky” will no doubt cause an elated stomp on dance floors worldwide.

Since late 2005, the Detroit-born, Berlin-based producer has been intrinsically linked to the rise and rise of the label owing to key releases like his Eye Contact EP, genre defining 2008 full length, Blank Fade, and last year's huge EP, Unstable Witness.

Riva Starr has been cooking up a special batchBatería Fantástica is set for release on Snatch! in April and features a special blend of exclusive & original South American flavoured cuts made especially for you by some of the coolest producers on the planet. Heavily influenced by the cultural and musical history of the South, and homage to the early Miami days, label head honcho Riva Starr called upon some of his favourite producers to create and collide, to form a unique and rich cultural flavor that is unlike their usual sound. The tracks have been exclusively crafted for Batería Fantástica with two collaborations from Riva, one with DJ Sneak, and the other with Guti. Other artists on the album include Carl Cox & Jon Rundell, Butch, Nouveau Yorican, El Pocho, 2000 And One & DJ Madskillz, Ramon Tapia, Pirupa & Spada, Toto La Momposina, Aldo Cadiz and more. The guys delivered a whole range of tracks, from huge bangers to deep & dark to the more groovy, warmer vibe. This album will get your feet burning. FIESTA! The launch of Batería Fantástica begins in Miami @ Mokai on March 22nd. Mark Fanciulli is one of modern electronic music’s most complete artists. An innovative and forward thinking producer whose dexterity and creativity behind the decks have made him a much desired DJ around the world. With a strong work ethic and a clear and determined vision for the future, it has been no surprise to see Mark climb the ranks as quickly and with as much humility as he has managed since his 2011 debut.

It was that debut that got Mark’s solo career off to the perfect start. “The Tide” was signed up to Joris Voorn’s Rejected imprint and went on to be the biggest track of summer 2011. Quite an induction, but not a wholly unexpected one when you consider the technical ability of this gifted producer who had spent the last few years honing his skills on the studio desk. “Keep On” a collaboration with Jordan Peak on Area Remote later that year and then his own “Sacrifice” on Saved Records in 2012 brought further success and garnered Mark wide critical acclaim and a helped yield a particularly strong fan base for a young producer with relatively few releases. But Mark has always been someone who focuses on quality ahead of quantity. “Cutoff” which was released via Leena Music and 2013’s “Game Plan” on Saved Records confirmed his much deserved status as one of the scene’s most exciting producers whose ability enables him to craft tracks across the entire spectrum of electronic music.

That same attitude also comes into play during Mark’s engaging DJ sets. A desire to play across the board and create a proper journey for the crowd has made Mark an extremely popular performer at the best clubs and festivals around the world. He is as adept at killing the floor at clubs like El Row in Barcelona, Amsterdam’s Studio 80, Space in Ibiza and Ministry of Sound in London as he is rocking festivals such as Sonar, WMC and the roadblock Saved events in his hometown of Maidstone. 

Having achieved so much already and still only at the age of 26, Mark has a bright future ahead of him. With his skill set and self-drive all at his disposal, he holds all the cards, it’s just up to him in which direction he will head next.
