Gin Blossoms Cover.  Story about a time ago:

I lived in Tempe, AZ from 1987-92 where the Gin Blossoms originated. When I was 21 in 1989 I was able to see them play at Long Wongs. Before I turned 21 I listened to them in the street in front of the bar along Mill Ave with the other underage kids. Long Wongs (now gone) was a chicken wing and beer joint with live music on Mill Ave. A fixture in Old Town Tempe. The Gin Blossoms sometimes also played at Long Wongs incognito as the “Del Montes” and played for about five hours straight and played old TV theme songs along with all their original material and the hits before they were hits like "Mrs. Rita" and "Allison Road". Hearing Allison Road ring-out over Mill Avenue late at night was a common sound and anyone could hear that song a hundred times and still love it, a great tune.  Once I saw the Del Montes with Elvis The Cat, a neighborhood street artist and overall character. Robin Wilson is also a truly kind man. He once set me up at an open mic at the Sun Club in Tempe around 1990 so I could sing a few songs for my new girlfriend. He also worked at Tower Records where I was a regular.  Anyway, I just met this amazing girl and wanted to impress her and sing her some songs and he also hosted an open mic at the Sun Club, another local dive bar and Tempe music institution at the other end of town. That ended up being the girl I took to Seattle and married. And I never got to thank that Gin Blossoms singer for setting me up, introducing me, and doing my sound to make a good impression - he became a rock star and I moved to Seattle with the girl. But all remains well to this day with thanks to him. Robin Wilson is a Class Act  JT
