Canadian producer Simon Doty returns to Anjunadeep with his latest single ’Tellin Me’, a fan favourite from the label’s flagship compilation Anjunadeep 13. The single is taken from Doty’s forthcoming ‘Living Sound EP’, out April 14th on Anjunadeep.

Since his debut on 2019’s Anjunadeep Explorations 11 with ‘Sama’, Simon Doty has put out siz stand out EPs on the label, quickly becoming a Anjunadeep favourite. The Canadian producer has developed a reputation for delectable deep melodic house, garnering support from the likes of Phil Taggart, Danny Howard, Gorgon City, Cassian, Jax Jones, Lane 8, and releasing on Knee Deep In Sound, Einmusika, and This Never Happened.

Jon Gurd returns to Anjunadeep with the announcement of his latest album ‘Phoenix’, out on April 8th.

‘Phoenix’ follows the release of Jon’s acclaimed album ‘Lion’, out summer 2020, which reached #3 on the iTunes Dance chart and gained support from tastemaker DJs including Solomun, Stephen Bodzin, Adriatique, Ida Engberg and Shadow Child. Whilst ‘Lion’ explored themes of loss ‘Phoenix’ takes inspiration from themes of rebirth, marking the start of a new chapter.

“Phoenix was written during the UK lockdown last year. When things at home got to a pretty low point I asked myself what is the most empowering thing I can do right now and the answer was to make a new album. I’ve always wanted to make an album called Phoenix. I like the idea of rebirth and coming back stronger after big challenges.”

A respected selector and producer, Jon came through the UK underground in the early 2000s as resident DJ at the legendary Slinky in Bournemouth, warming up for the likes of Mauro Picotto and Paul Van Dyk. His early productions were championed by Paul Woolford, Sasha, Lee Burridge, James Zabiela, and Sander Kleinenberg, and Jon soon found himself travelling the world performing alongside the artists he’d been opening for not long before.

Following the release of the first single ‘Emergence’, Jon Gurd now shares the second single ‘Open’ ahead of the album release. Leading with characteristic bold basslines and cascading melodies, Jon showcases his intricate production techniques reminiscent of Jon Hopkins, Jacques Green and Bonobo.

“A lot of the album is about getting close to the bone of feeling, a lot like Lion was in a way, but this time trying to translate old subconscious memories into feeling. Memories of euphoria when I just started clubbing 20 years ago. The excitement of discovering and dancing to music for the first time. The feeling of connection on the dance floor with people you’ve never met before. The after parties, the whole thing.”

In celebration of the album release, Jon will be playing a headline show at Colours Hoxton, London on the 8th of April, following successful sets at London’s iconic venues Fabric and Printworks.

‘Phoenix’ is the latest album to be released on Anjunadeep, described by Billboard as “one of dance music’s ultimate tastemaker labels”. The label is known for discovering talents like Lane 8, Dusky, Yotto, and Ben Böhmer.

Just to let you know we had an amazing guest on The Sounds Collectives “IT RUNS DEEP” Last Saturday night on Deephouse-radio.com We welcomed the brilliant Dj Takuna. He is the founder and one of the creatives at Mad Buddies Podcast, a class DJ & Pod-caster of the monthly show based in Durban, South Africa. His interpretation of electronic music is described by complex melodies, deep transitions, thumping beats & harmonising dubbie sounds. His influences range from various house music inspired genres and sub-genres.

2   Jamo and Andy George "Remember" I was  Going through a few old Promos I had last year and came across this  taken from MODA BLACK VOL. II Sampler Featuring tracks from Huxley, Danny Daze, Maxxi Sound system, Jaymo & Andy George, Hot Since 82, Habischman. And it’s a gem i missed out on went straight of Hot since 82 .I think it was called leave me. But what a cracking tune.

3     Roots Are Deep   Original Mix       Artists Jay West   out on Collected Works 5 track EP With artists like ....Moonwalk,  EdOne, Bodden, Trash You, Claus Casper,  That track by Jay West is no 5 on the release and is one of my Favorites. Out on OFF Recordings.

Following A Drumming Background, Tom Made A Move To New York Where He Worked As A Producer/Composer For Ant Music. There He Composed And Produced Music For TV And Commercials, Meanwhile Holding Down His DJ Residency At Subkulture.Since His Return To London, Tom Has Had A String Of Releases With Sudup Recordings, Lost My Dog, 3am Recordings And Warmth Recordings. His Recent EP ‘Love Potion’ Was A Huge Success For Lost My Dog, Reaching #5 In Juno’s Deep House Chart, And Even Making It Into Beatport’s Chill Out Top 100 Courtesy Of The Track ‘The Return’. This Was Followed By A Special Jay Tripwire Remix Package. Last Year Saw Tom Teaming Up With Producer Harold Heath To Start Working On Some collaboration  EP’s. The 1st Was Released On Deepwit Recordings, The 2nd Is Due Out Soon On Acryl And The Pair Have Just Finished Off Their 3rd EP Together. The beautiful and incredibly talented Spanish singer now living in berlin was kind enough to let our crew express their own interpretation of "Vermillion" (her new Single coming out in June) and as always, they turned it into another dancefloor essential full of warmth and deep feelings.

The song builds up with vibe synth stabs and horns that create a perfect atmosphere for the sweet vocals while a groovy bassline and housy drums add the perfect dance factor to the whole thing, all constructed with finesse and great taste. A true masterpiece that will sure ring in everyone's ears for a long time.

Hi my name is Mark Mac.
“I love my family and my life, my only other passion is music” 
I’ve been a dance DJ in many clubs and bars up and down the UK and across Europe. I’ve worked with a number of radio stations doing Deep House, House and Chillout shows for over the last 20 years, In that time I’ve mixed it up with world famous Djs from all around the globe. 
The Sounds Collective show was born in May of 2011 as part of my passion for dance music. It has grown at an amazing rate with the support and help of good friends and new friends I have met along the way. 
 On My shows I play the newest and finest in Deep House, House music, and chilled beats. The show has been honoured with many amazing world class Labels Artists and Dj’s.
Labels like UM Records, Deepwit Recordings, Itom Records, Ready Mix Records, Fierce Angel, Hed Kandi, SeamlessDeep, Redbox Records and Deep Site Recordings.
 The line up of Guest Dj’s who have appeared on the shows include Andrew Weatherall, Rishi K., Paul Cassidy, Moti Brothers, Tom Lown, Portofino Sunrise, Rory Cochrane, Broadcasting, Ben Sowton, Marshall Jefferson, Mark Doyle, Terry Hunter, Graham Sahara, Graham Park.
