Over morning coffee, I explored creating an ambient piece by routing radio waves through iPad AUM into the Delta-V Audio Spacecraft granular synthesizer and capturing live samples on the Octatrack using my Zoom L6 mixer as the central hub. The signal path involved sending radio audio through multiple mix buses, allowing me to process it simultaneously through Spacecraft's ethereal granular clouds while collecting fragments on the Octatrack for live manipulation. After getting some interesting buffers loaded up, I improvised a dreamy session with layers of processed radio waves, granular textures, and live sampling, recording both a stereo mix and isolated tracks for later editing.

David Fodel discussed the Lafayette Electronic Arts Festival (LEAF), a multidisciplinary event featuring visual arts, electronic music, and live audiovisual performances. This year’s festival runs from May 14th to July 13th and includes a new “Electro Kissa” listening room series and two nights of performances on May 30th and 31st in Lafayette. (Interview: 5/7/25)

Like architecture, which starts from basic elements: glass, sand, and stone to create a building, synthesizers start from basic sine waves modulated to produce sound into music. Join us for this open-air concert at one of Denver’s most prominent cultural facilities where five musicians taking turns playing synthesizers will dedicate their performances to the distinctive glass roof of the Galleria.
