After the success of the broad and powerful second LP Alone In Time?, Ø [Phase] continues his ongoing connection to Token with the Submerged Metropolitan EP.

The title track enters with Burchett’s own brand of unease; the lead is tense and discordant, moving over a bumpy, rolling kick. Brushing off-beat hats rush overhead and play delicately with this unease above the thunder. A vague spoken word sample adds texture and contributes to the cerebral edge.

Ethereal swells and intense rhythmic play introduce Fallen Columns, which delves into atonality with keys that add a controlled recklessness to the composition.

This Absent Mind takes on a hypnotic, dubby form with a confidence that belies its complexity. A sublime breakdown introduces the heavier second half of the track, which enters impressively and batters on to the end.

Five years and 99 EPs later, the ‘One Hundred’ EP is here at last. To celebrate, we brought together legendary purveyors of @NightBassRecords music for a unique blend of genres that culminate into one expertly crafted 9-track release. Label boss @ACSlater lights the torch with ‘Big Loud Heavy Bass’ - a track that speaks true to its name. @Chris-Lorenzo-1 keeps the big bass energy up with ‘Dash’, a certified club-banger that bounces seamlessly into the long-awaited Spicy Noodles VIP mix, courtesy of @Flava_D. A refreshingly melodic intro comes through on @Shift-Key’s ‘Ragz’, before descending into a shape-shifting bassline drop, paving the way for @Taiki-Nulight-uk’s musically diverse “Kush”, with the iconic Dread MC’s vocals. After that we have @djJayRobinson & @Jack-Beat’s ‘Hustler’, a stunning mix of each of their synth-laden bouncy sounds, that send you into the tinkering synth riffs on @Petey-Clicks' ‘Ugly’, an energetic number that’ll keep your feet shuffling into the next track, @Sinden’s ‘Work That’. This house number hits heavy from the start with a nice mix of vocal samples and a bumpin’ house beat. Finishing it all off we have Bijou’s ‘Used 2 This’ with @PapiYanks’ rap flow layering an ominous beat that leads into a modern visitation of the classic @Bijou bassline sound. This release represents the core of Night Bass, capturing our roots, inspirations and culture into one amalgamation that is Night Bass 100.
